Kathleen, I like your picks, all underdogs in the east. Just curious what the Proline payout be as I'm very tempted to wager a small amount on that.

Common sense tells me the outcome will be different than my picks. I just picked the teams I'd like to see win :)

You have me wondering about he Proline idea though. I haven't played it in ages, and just might do those very picks for fun.
Every year we'd see at least a few upsets in the first round and this year should be no difference. Tampa and Boston seem to have peaked too early and haven't looked as good down the stretch. Washington hasn't shown they can win in the playoffs and chances are against Pittsburg 3peating.

On the other hand, Columbus, Philadelphia and New Jersey all have played well to hold off a hot Florida team. The Leafs had secured a playoff spot so early that they were just cruising the last few weeks. I don't think even they themselves know how good they can be. The two keys will be goaltending and how the refs call the games. If they let the Bruins rough up the young Leafs and intimate the soft defence into mistakes, the Leafs will have a tough time advancing. The Leafs' power play will have to be clicking like they have been and Andersen will have to stand on his head to steal a game or two in Boston.

Having said all that and before you put any money on proline, I should warn you of my terrible history of making predictions. I'm still pissed at myself for being so wrong in predicting a landslide win for Hillary ?.

glamphotographer, I have to hand it to you, that is a very well thought, and impressed you completed it right to the cup.

I'm not so brave to do all rounds, so only doing round one . I'm gonna cheat and copy/paste your round one.

Sure hope you're right about Toronto and Winnipeg. :)

Round 1

Tampa vs New Jersey ------- NJ in 7
Boston vs Toronto ----------- Toronto in 6
Washington vs Columbus --- Columbus in 7
Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia -- Philadelphia in 7
Nashville vs Colorado ------- Nashville in 5

Las Vegas vs Los Angeles -- Las Vegas in 6

Can't wait, I love the first round.
Looking so forward to the Flyers/Pens, Ducks/Sharks and Jets/Wild. I'd expect those to be the most intense, but usually surf all the opening games to see which teams are throwing the most hits around.

I guess Kathleen is not a Pittsburgh Penguins fan anymore lol, I thought you really love the Pens. I am not a big Pens fan, but everybody know the Pens will win this series. My Stanley Cup Finals prediction are Nashville/Winnipeg/Las Vegas vs Tampa Bay/Pittsburgh. I only see these 5 teams having chance to win the Stanley Cup this year. This year a Canadian NHL team have great chance to win this year. The Winnipeg Jets have good chance to win. RIP Humboldt Broncos victims.

Oh, and what a start for the Pens. I'm curious to see how the Flyers respond to that spanking.
Most teams usually respond with a win after a spanking like that. If not, the Flyers may as well shine the golf clubs. Giroux can play for Canada.

I fully expect the Flyers to come out guns a blazing in game 2. That was embarrassing for them.

Well said :)
The Vegas Golden Knights and Winnipeg Jets are proving haters wrong, It is going to be a Western Conference team to win a the Stanley cup this year. The Golden Knights, Jets and Preds have a good chance.

The Leafs playoffs run is likely over, I don't see them winning this series at all. The Bruins are a veteran team with some good young skilled players. The Leafs don't have any good playoff experiences players.

Damn, but that Crosby is just on another level. Not quite Gretzky, but head and shoulders above the rest. What a pleasure to watch!
