These students deserve the Nobel Prize for Peace. To them LIVES matter, not GUNS. Trump should keep his promise to them and tighten those pathetic Gun regulations that are in place. Why does he want to back away and support these NRA Flakes.

Majority of the Americans want tighter gun laws. That would spell MORE VOTES.
Trump could have won over many Centre-Left voters if he’d followed through with his initial promise for tighter gun laws. But...of course...he didn’t.

Also, since we have no biases, we should mention that six out of ten Americans believe that guns make them safer. It's nice to see kids worked up about something.

How many students 18 and under were part of the poll?

It doesn't matter, kids don't vote and the only way there will be any meaningful change on gun laws it will be on the constitutional level. And for that you need votes, lots and lots of votes.

What does matter is their schools getting shot up and they die, even if they don't vote. Of course they should have a say and this was only a poll of opinions. Maybe they should have muzzles on them so you don't have to hear them.

You exemplify the title of this thread. Not only whiney, but totally dismissive of them. To paraphrase, "kids should be seen, then shot, but not heard".

Totally pathetic attitude.

So why don't the laws help guns make lives safer?

National registration, background checks, and the ability to take guns from criminals and mentally ill would make things much safer while still allowing people to keep themselves safe.

David Hogg & the Gun Geek Gang are upset they have to wear clear backpacks & name tags to school now LOLLLLL.

Weren’t they JUST complaining that ANY kind of change would be positive?

How does it feel to be universally punished by one person’s crazy actions?!!

Gotta hand it to him though, David media Hogg outdid Obama as the best gun salesman ever, but his 15 minutes are about up.

And as they March for “Our Lives” remember all the lives SAVED by a Good Guy with a gun. ALL LIVES MATTER. Even those who are still here because someone knew how to use a weapon & has the right to own it!!

There are already background checks in place, and everyone knew that the Florida shooter was a potential threat, yet he was able to obtain and possess a weapon. What's the point of passing more laws, if the existing ones are not enforced? As for the registry, what's that going to do? The American courts will never make the law abiding gun owners bare the burden of the criminal ones. That's just the Constitution. It is idiotic and futile to march, protest and blame NRA when the fundamental obstacle is the 2bd amendment. Of course very few Democrats, and zero Republicans, would ever openly run for removing it. In the absence of real curage they generate bullshit excuses and virtue signalling that's as significant as a fart in the wind.

Seven out of ten Americans think that there should be much tighter gun restriction laws. These kids want that change and hopefully they will achieve that goal.

So you can predict the future now. I'm impressed.
I'm wholly unimpressed that you don't realize that maturity tends to change people's outlook.

Ahh... so their current 'immature' outlook of not wanting to die is immature.
Gotcha!
If that's what you got out of it then that's what you got out of it. As they used to say in the old country:"There are people and there are door knobs".
