A few of my work colleagues and I had lunch at Kentucky Fried Chicken today. It has been a while since I last indulged in the Col's secret recipe .
I was amazed at how small the chicken pieces were. Full size breasts are now the size of a tea biscuit, drumsticks are slightly bigger than a wing you would get from a pub and the leg/back piece was so small you could almost eat it in one bite.
I swear that it could have been a cornish hen they used. My friends said that other chicken chains do not serve pieces that small.
A four piece meal now is the equivalent, chicken-wise, of what a two piece once was. Does KFC use very young chickens now? Are they purposely buying small birds to increase margins?
When I buy a normal chicken to cook at home it is easily twice the size of what they cook at KFC.
It took me a while to forgive them for removing the Grecian bread, but with what they are offering now? It is truly a rip-off.
