How should US define Success when Trump meets with Kim Jong Un?

I think if Trump can accomplish the following goals his meeting will be viewed as a success;
1. Avoid starting a Nuclear War;

2. Avoid being videoed in a hotel room while a North Korean hooker pisses on him;

3. If #2 cannot be avoided, find a better lawyer than Michael Cohen to negotiate a Non-Disclosure Agreement.


That should cover it...Let’s keep the bar nice and low.

Frankly that he doesn't come out the meeting saying I made a great deal, and as soon as the details come out we find out it is disastrous.

Of course, Trump will lie because he won't bother to take any briefings on NK and will blurt nonsense out at the meeting. Then he'll brag about lying at a GOP fundraiser a week later - just to show how smart he is!

I have to agree with the fourth option, he may be considered a madman but Un has proven himself to be much smarter than Trump. And Trump threatening to pull troops out of South Korea means that he'll enter any meeting with Un at a disadvantage.

All Un has to do is play to Trump's ego and need to be fawned over and the dictator will get South Korea.

Poor Trump. There’s always someone else to blame for his ineptitude. Maybe he should fire some more cabinet members or aggressively Tweet something to N Korea in ALL CAPS?

You're not entirely accurate Kirk, North Korea didn't ramp up it's nuclear weapons program unitl W's "Axis of Evil" speech. It went into overdrive when America invaded Iraq. Iran launched it's missile program at the same time.

Read all the facts about how North Korea did dismantle it's program but restarted it after it felt that there were violations y the US towards the agreement. It was not only Clinton who tried to dismantle the N. Korean Nuclear Program, but also Bush and Obama later on. If you look at all the talks and treaties, they also involved countries like China. We know the right wingers like Hannity try to always blame the Democrats for any ridiculous stuff:
