Hard to fathom how someone can kill someone else let alone his own family.

You don't have to be biological parents to be part of a family. Not his family. The killer wasn't the father of the kids killed.
A more appropriate title of the news report could be
something like 'Mom and her two teenage kids killed
by boy toy boyfriend'.
Unfortunately this is not the USA where they actually hand out legitimate sentences.3 dead people, so he's looking at 3×20 years = 60 years in prison
"Not criminally responsible" seems to be a recurring theme in this country.Unfortunately this is not the USA where they actually hand out legitimate sentences.
LOL. More McFacts.3 dead people, so he's looking at 3×20 years = 60 years in prison
You know that Harper changed the law so that multiple murders can result in consecutive sentences, dont you??LOL. More McFacts
I wasn't aware of this. Well done Harper. Has a judge done this yet I wonder? You know that Harper changed the law so that multiple murders can result in consecutive sentences, dont you??

Dillard and Smich among othersI wasn't aware of this. Well done Harper. Has a judge done this yet I wonder?
Right... Message to women: Don't date someone who might kill you and your family.Saw one picture of the guy posing at the gym with the mum
He looked like a jacked up loser
Roid rage definitely was a factor
Not blaming the victim but people (especially women) need to be more choosey and selective about who they date. That “bad boy” novelty gets tired real quick
Cheers
A bunch of times. There is Smich/Dellard like previous poster mentioned.I wasn't aware of this. Well done Harper. Has a judge done this yet I wonder?
From the FIRST line of your post: "The move could be purely symbolic, and even dangerous, critics say, as there are few who offenders would be ever be affected by the change"You know that Harper changed the law so that multiple murders can result in consecutive sentences, dont you??

Wrong again. It has already happened in Canada. There is no way in hell a guy who is charged with second degree murder is going to get consecutive sentences.
Try again
What's that? Do I see 'first degree murder' in the link you posted, AND in your own words?Wrong again. It has already happened in Canada.
Travis Baumgartner, an armoured car guard who shot and killed three colleagues during a robbery in Edmonton, has been sentenced to life in prison with no parole for 40 years. He was originally charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder.

So as usual, you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about
And did you conveniently miss the two 2nd degree murder charges (and subsequent convictions)??What's that? Do I see 'first degree murder' in the link you posted, AND in your own words?
Read that again, slowly. First. Degree. Murder. For your information, that means he had intent to kill someone
You must have missed your meds today. He got consecutive sentencing BECAUSE of the first degree murder conviction... it was premeditated and planned... something that is interestingly absent from the case being discussed. And did you conveniently miss the two 2nd degree murder charges (and subsequent convictions)??
Read that again, slowly. Second. Degree. Murder. Two of them.
You can only get maximum 25 years in prison for the 1st degree murder charge, so where did the other 15 to 20 years come from??
I'll let you think about that, genius
Show me in Canadian law where it says you must have a 1st degree murder conviction before consecutive sentences for additional murders can be handed out. Or show me where it says you cannot receive consecutive sentences for second degree murderYou must have missed your meds today. He got consecutive sentencing BECAUSE of the first degree murder conviction... it was premeditated and planned... something that is interestingly absent from the case being discussed
You always have to make a debate personal. This why nobody likes you and you're the most hated guy on TerbI'll say it again, you probably dropped your reading glasses in the toilet again... there is no way that someone convicted of 2nd degree murder is going to get consecutive sentences.
I think it's time for your pre-dinner nap, Mr. Burns
Show me where someone with ONLY second degree murder charges got consecutive sentencing.Show me in Canadian law where it says you must have a 1st degree murder conviction before consecutive sentences for additional murders can be handed out. Or show me where it says you cannot receive consecutive sentences for second degree murder
