Scary times we live in with such over reaching authoritarianism. I remember reading the article. This doll was NOT advertise as a child. Due to it's small stature & facial features L.E. decided it was child like. Furthermore there was no established laws about such dolls in place.
Look at it. It's a facsimile of a child. Anyone can see that.

I also fail to see how its "no different than child porn" considering there is no kids involved in this at all. Child porn isnt illegal because "its fucked up that people like it"...if that was true all kinds of porn would be illegal. Child porn is illegal because children are harmed. Read an article a while back where psychologists who treat pedophiles and sex offenders talked about this subject. Apparently, giving them child like dolls is a problem. Common sense would tell us it’s a harmless way for them to handle their urges but the reality is that it seems to desensitize them to the idea of molesting children.

They went after a pedophile a few years ago, who was caught drawing his own paedophilia pictures out of his own imagination. They were never distributed. So he was charged with possession of child pornography. I believe that the Supreme Court acquitted him, because his drawings were an image of what what is his mind, you can't erase what's in someone's mind. The State cannot punish you for what you think.
As for the doll itself, it was seized because you could construe that it's pronographic. But I think that's as far as it should have gone. In fact, unless he admitted to it, did he really know in advance what it was going to look like? What if the doll was a reprentation of a midget? The guy may have had a fetish of midgets?

Agreed. It's only a matter of time before the doll stops satisfying them & they turn to real children.

Customs. It would be labeled as to what content. I gather the short stature would have got them curious to open & look at. Clearly x-ray would show no drugs smuggled so that would not have caused reason to actually open .... and thus see the face & draw their conclusion. More than ridiculous it is absolutely scary ....
