Saudi Arabia will allow Air India’s new direct flight from New Delhi to Tel Aviv to use its airspace.

Riyadh’s approval means Air India’s flight to Israel will be about five hours — three hours less than El Al’s flight to New Delhi, which is required to fly around the Arabian Peninsula.

According to Kan news, Riyadh approved the airline’s request to fly over its airspace last week.

Air India’s inaugural New Delhi-Tel Aviv flight is slated for March 18.

I'm very slowly starting to think this new Prince is the real deal when it comes to reforms.

Long way to go but we are indeed seeing change.

And the Sunday NYTimes had a nice piece on Israel's air support for Egyptian army operations against jihadists in northern Sinai.

You have to understand that some are blinded by hate.

True, I only read the headline, actually reading a story about new airline routes?
Kill me first.

But hey, the thread is still going so you guys must really care about this.

He is worried the Palis are being left behind. With good reason.

I'm still tepid on Saudi Arabia but they have made recent moves which keeps me hopeful that they will enter the 21st century. You think any of these reforms would have happened if HRC or Obama were in charge?

Yes. I think this new Prince is a reformer. He is already consolidating power.

I think he is looking at an "enlightened" monarchy along Jordan lines model.

Is been a while that the Saudis are trying to reconcile with Israel and viceversa, Frank can't stand it. This is why he will bash the Saudis but loves Iran that wants to wipe out Israel. (He could be a Shiite, that would explain even more)

The Saudis are a theocracy who are presently destroying Yemen. The only reason the US backs them is for oil.
Not to mention the not so secret funding of the 9/11 crowd.
But hey, if you're for supporting countries where women aren't even allowed to drive, go for it.

Plenty of Arab countries treat their women badly, it never bothered you. You hate the Saudis because they're looking to normalize with the Jews (you can't bear this) and both of them are enemies of Iran.

All true. Although driving privileges are there now. But the new Prince is making changes. And for social stability they need to be incremental.

At least they are moving forward finally.

Don't be silly, I haven't liked them for quite some time. Read the 28 pages, check their human rights issues with other countries or their war with Al Jazeera. There are plenty of reasons to not like them, they are less liberal then Iran, with probably a worse human rights record and more wars.

Yes, the government of Saudi Arabia is greater than the government in Yemen and the government in Israel is better than the government(s) of the Palestinians.

You didn't like them for a while because its a while they've been working with Israel. You couldn't give a shit of their human rights as you supported Iran and never condemned other Arab countries with real bad human rights.

Hate is a very basic, low level human trait,... but that's all some have in life.

I actually do feel sad for them,... well maybe not.
