Can I assume you mean ‘for men?’This particular example is benign but it's the line of reasoning behind it that is causing lots of problems in other areas of modern life.
My mistake for assuming. Then what’s the ‘line of reasoning’ and the ‘problems’?Your assumption is mistaken.
With all due respect, it's not worth getting into a verbal war of attrition with a extreme leftist zombie. My mistake for assuming. Then what’s the ‘line of reasoning’ and the ‘problems’?
With all due respect, it's childish to assert views you aren't willing to defend. With all due respect, it's not worth getting into a verbal war of attrition with a extreme leftist zombie.
LOL. It's a fair point. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. If I don't write the line and just start with "I think women.....", usually someone or a bunch come on and say I'm not a woman so I can't speak for them. So I am heading responses off like that by acknowledging this. Again, this is what I think, it is not something I know - ladies (or gents who know otherwise) are free to disagree. On the subject of male privilege, I laughed when I read “I can’t speak for women but if I could I think most would agree with me... has no real effect.”
It’s great it doesn’t effect you or your friends, but clearly it effects some. If there was no opposition to this change that’s been fought for since the early 80s, time/energy would have been minimal. There are many pieces of legislation designed to protect women or gender diverse people, or to enhance their role in society, most of which move like molasses through parliament.
Assuming that spending time and energy on this has prevented some great equalizer bill from coming to pass, is wishful thinking. Just take a look at current legislation in the senate to get a good idea how our parliamentarians spend their time.
But back to the anthem. I don’t really care, it doesn’t effect me in any meaningful way. I’ll sing or not sing whatever I want. If someone wants to change official language to make it more inclusive? Sure, because being someone who doesn’t care, I really don’t care.
In most stadium seat-rows you'll do yourself an injury.I’m not happy with the change, as a result whenever I hear the anthem I’m going to take a knee in protest.
