Toronto police are investigating after a man allegedly cut a hijab off a young girl.

It happened near Pauline Johnson Public School in the Warden Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East area in Scarborough.

The girl was reportedly on her way to school when the man came up to her and used scissors to cut off her hijab. Police say she was attacked by the same man a second time about 10 minutes later.

There has been no word on if the girl was injured during the attacks.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

He’s described as a man in his 20s, Asian, medium build, about five-foot-eight-inches and six-foot, with black hair and a moustache. He was last seen wearing glasses, a black hoodie and black pants.

The Toronto District School Board’s Ryan Bird released the following statement:

“A student at Pauline Johnson Public School was assaulted by an unknown male while on her way to school this morning. Toronto Police and the student’s family were immediately contacted by the school. We are shocked to learn of this assault and we will be working closely with police to offer any assistance that we can. In the meantime, we are offering supports to the impacted student and her family.”

Premier Kathleen Wynne tweeted about the incident, calling it a “cowardly act of hatred.”

totally unacceptable to touch a child in any way. If I witnessed this behaviour it would be me in handcuffs as I would have knocked that dude out

Attacking a eleven year old girl is despicable. Whatever, race, caste or creed that atrocious individual is, he needs to be be locked up in jail.
No doubt the police will get to the bottom of this crime, and then decide what charges should be implemented on this criminal.

How many witnesses would you see outside on a cold rainy day and in a remote street in Scarborough. Another conspiracy theory against a young 11 year old girl who was also prepared to be interviewed.

Given she was walking to school, there should be plenty of witnesses.

Whether the story is true or not, the girl is a victim either way.

So lemme get this straight, about 30,000 sex assaults in canada, approximately 60% of the victims are under 18 years of age so roughly 18,000 victims.
No tweets from Kathleen Wynne about any of those crimes, but someone cutting a hijab gets her attention?

Now im not saying whoever did this isn't a piece of shit and should be dealt with, but makes you wonder what the fuck is up with Wynne that this is what gets her attention and ignores much more serious crimes and victims of crimes.

To be fair, that's how the media works.

Endless numbers of people in Canada are victims, but some reason some cases get sensationalized, while the others are totally ignored or get a tiny article in the corner of a newspaper. Don't get me wrong, it's impossible to give every criminal case equal footage because there's only so much time and editorial space, but the media has to get it's ratings. And the best thing to get that is make its bets on certain stories and carry them as long as possible in hopes it's interesting for the public and they want to keep following it.

500 people can die in a capsized ferry in the Philippines, or an over-crowded bus in India goes off a cliff killing 100 and it'll get a small article. The next day, no more. That's old news and nobody in the media or Canada gives a shit.

A fucking monsoon can kill 1,000 in some Southern Asian country, and by the next day, no Canadian news outlet will care.

As stupid as this crime was of someone cutting a girl's hijab, it's local news so it'll get a bigger article than any bus in India crashing killing scores of people.

Scarborough is far from a busy pedestrian area so it's not far fetched that there would be few witnesses. Drivers might not notice anything given that they should be paying attention to the road especially with the lousy weather we've been having.

Exactly. Local stories are easier for people to relate with. I think most people fear a stranger coming up to you or your kid. Few Canadians can relate to monsoons, over-crowded buses going off cliffs, etc.

I'm not surprised Galseigin didn't start this thread because though he is seriously devoted to posting threads about Muslims, he prefers only the ones that show them as perpetrators, not victims. And you Terb rednecks who doubt this story is real.... I guess you don't believe anything unless it comes from Alex Jones or Ezra Levant

I have a hard time believing this girl made up the story.

100% fact in my opinion.

In a place far, far away
I’ll believe it when there’s proof.
The police has the hijab.

Since when did we stop being protective of our children. I guess in your eyes if a child claims they were abused you would blame the child as will.

The kid described the suspect and handle of the scissor so I doubt she made it up. Not surprised ppl here think it's lies just so they can lie themselves about how their discriminative friends are angels
