Novak says he still might pull out of the Aussie Open but if Not a clash with Roger in the semi's is something for us to look for ... Is Nadal close to 100 percent and or is Roger going to continue what he did in 2017 ?

Sorry left out Andy Murray but he had major surgery ...

Hope we don't have so many injuries. Pretty weak end to 2017.

Will be interesting to see how Djokovich does with his new serve.

Murray had two lots of surgery, neither major but enough to keep him away until early summer at least.

Watched Milos struggle last night. He was awful and got worse as the night went on. He has his serve, (but it is inconsistent), and not much else. He is either, still hurting, out of shape, needs practice or all that! Friggin' sad!

For somebody who was whinning about the tennis season being to long ... I think his body would break down if he practiced the degree it takes to be great and also play the tour ..

Shapo has one flaw, lack of a killer instinct. You could see it in his opening match when he nearly gave away the third set. Tsonga better enjoy the victory, its the last time he'll prevail over Shapo.

IMO the reason he lost to Tsonga was a little case of nerves and tightening up starting when he served for the match at 5-3. Once this starts it's hard to shake and he was off his game till the end. I give Tsonga some credit for this as he never quit and battled hard.

Gotta love Shapo's game though. He's going to be great and will easily surpass Raonic's accomplishments. I don't see a physical weakness. Psychologically remains to be seen if there's one.

IMHO this could be Alexander Zverev's tournament.

Mind you I've hit a bad patch in my prognostications: Shapo and Mugu are both out.

Well Novak is out and so it's top 2 vs young guns ... The guy who beat Novak maybe a new young gun in this 2018 season

Only Federer left and he has still to play his QF.

Another tournament though marred by injuries. This time to Djokovich and Nadal. So a somewhat hollow victory for whoever wins it.

One aspect of being an all-time great is durability.

Mr,Roger Federer is the GOAT—-enough said
We are in a golden age in sport in getting to experiencie greatness in Brady Roger and Lebron ... All 3 are freaks of nature in which age isn't stopping them from continuing greatness ..

To me Roger and Nadal remind me of Wayne and Mario ... Wayne had logevity and Mario body could stay healthy ..

Orr (Howe), Wilt/Kareem, Laver, Jack/Arnie.

I'd say that is a reasonably decent era

I've got to agree with you on that one. Let's face it, all eras have their great athletes and who's to say who's better. A very difficult judgement to make. That being said I've seen the tennis greats going back to Borg and for me there's never been any as good as Roger. I enjoyed watching MacEnroe immensely as he had great touch and artistry and could hit all the shots with variety. But Roger has all of Mac's artistry with power to boot.

It's going to be interesting to see how Chung matches up against him in the semis. From what I've seen of him he appears to be a Djokovic clone, a gumby with tremendous pace off both wings and the ability to run down just about anything. I hope Roger doesn't take him lightly.

Chung is a mystery ... I didn't here much about him in 2017 .. I think he is too young to feel preasure and might surprise Roger .. Although his nemis is in the other side of the bracket

What in incredible achievement. Nadal is injured, Djoker injured, Murray recovering from surgery... honestly Fed may win the slam this year, all four!!

saw some highlights, just incredible how fast he moves for 36yo. And avoiding injury while playing at the highest level is part of his brilliance. Truly the GOAT!
