I’d love to say I don’t understand why anyone would support any review board that deletes reviews, Alberta does just that. The primary board out west deletes bad reviews for paid advertisers on regular basis. They ban anyone that tires to post an honest bad review about a paid advertiser if they insist on posting on accurate bad reviews on a regular basis.

Would you guys still support a review board that deletes bad reviews if it was the only option the paid advertisers were willing to support?

It would defeat the entire purpose of a review board. Makes it nothing more than an internet advertising site.

Deleting reviews totally defeats the value of using the reviews as a marketing tool. It creates and environment of distrust between clients and SP’s. Think about everything that requires trust. Screening processes require trust between clients and SP’s to be effective. The list goes on. You can’t have community without integrity and trust.

Already on this board I feel one can’t be too free to speak against any of the agencies that advertise here.

I can’t imagine what it would be like on this other board.

Really ? So threads that go on for 30 pages flaming an agency dont count as speaking against an agency ? As long as the comments are constructive, informative and respectful while getting the point or issue out, we dont even look twice at the thread. When trolls pile on with an obvious axe to grind, that is not tolerated and usually flagged by many members.

this board is by no means perfect... but it is better than any of the alternatives!

I have great deal of respect for TERB, MERB, PERB. I really wish more reviewers would care about the accuracy of reviews in Alberta. Being liked and being the center of attention is more important than being honest or accurate on CAF. (They’re pink and purple/no longer blue).

PERB is actually the only place you can go out west where you can depend on the accuracy and integrity of the reviews. PERB’s main competitor has zero sympathy if you’re getting ripped off or scammed. Speaking from personal experience, guys should very grateful to have access to a popular and honest board in your province.

This board is funded by advertisers so I guess they have some influence.

Very few negative reviews. Tons of shill reviews. Tons of reviews that have been bell curved. Lots of 10’s being handed out. I’ve even seen some marks greater than 10/10 this year. It’s very hard to filter out the legit reviews lately.

You guys can look up any agency that advertise here and you will find some bad reviews on them. That will be your proof that bad reviews don't get deleted unless those are fake reviews and written by clients that have an axe to grind. I find that happens very rare and for the most part it's just honest bad reviews that are written in a respectful manner and they get to stay for as long as good ones.

Numerous years of looking at reviews and I will say this is not a shill board. I have read negative reviews of advertisers both Indy and agency as well as massage that changed my mind about seeing someone.

I'm going to assume as well some indies have a no review policy that would remove all posts.

The Mods are good here. Feel free to check out the other trash boards and compare.

One SP told me that the blue board charges a fee to have negative reviews deleted, she use to advertise there but has since retired. I can't remember if it is one time or monthly.

As a result these practices, horrible SP's can have a false online perception and plenty of first timers will have wasted their money. I will admit that I have seen an SP who was terrible, just for the gossip. Those days are done now.

AS with any review board be it yelp, homestars, rotten tomatoes etc take it with a grain of salt and cross reference. That should help mitigate bias.

Paying someone to delete a bad review is a waste of money. Here’s a simple fact. The second you start deleting the bad review it moves into the PM system. The clients haven’t really quit writing bad reviews in Alberta. They pass information about SP’s using the PM system.

As painful as it can be to have to deal with a review written in the public forum, it’s 100 times worse when the PM system becomes the review board. You can’t defend yourself in the PM system. People can say whatever they want without accountability or repercussions.

If fake a review or revenge review is posted in the forum, you have the ability to defend yourself and the reputation of your business. You’ve also put yourself in a very bad position where the reputation of your business in now in the hands of someone who doesn’t care about integrity.

How can you trust a person to help with a serious problem if it’s not their interest to do anything?

Years ago I had a bad experience with an SP. I was a new hobbyist at the time and this SP had (Still does) a good reputation. I posted about it on multiple boards including this one and they were all deleted on her request. I was also made to look like the bad guy by other posters. I still stand by what really happened because I feel that I did nothing wrong, and she later apologized to me through a PM.

Money does talk. But that's life.

pftttt rubbish. Care to give an example. ? We get a dozen requests a day for bad comments to be removed. We always respectfully decline unless it is proven that the post is bogus and made by a disgruntled client.

I agree with this. In fact I sometimes see that some of these flaming or contentious threads are left up but locked by a Mod.
