What's up with these BP ads?

Anyone notice a rash of BP ads lately in Durham that include links to fake/empty or totally unrelated social media accounts? Not 100% sure what's going on here but maybe the new ploy with bots is that social media accounts add some kind of legitimacy to the advertisement? But what makes it more confusing is that some of these fake/empty links are on ads for real Durham providers.

Like Blake: http://toronto.backpage.ca/FemaleEscorts/mrs-robinson/54102362 who I've seen before but disappeared not long after my session with her. Her fake Twitter account ends in a series of random numbers which is pretty indicative of a bot.

Or this one, who I've definitely seen advertise before: http://toronto.backpage.ca/FemaleEscorts/36ddd-tall-brunette-289-271-5832-car-or-out-calls/84928543

Or this one, who I've also seen advertise before: http://toronto.backpage.ca/FemaleEscorts/wild-fun-and-open-minded/95667842 (Links to the DisneyPixar Facebook page? What the fuuuuuuck)

More examples:

This girl links to a Kaley Cuoco fan account...? http://toronto.backpage.ca/FemaleEs...00-real-no-lies-arrived-819-303-5075/96877422

http://toronto.backpage.ca/FemaleEs...th-me-now-outcalls-only-647-694-5923/97312427

http://toronto.backpage.ca/FemaleEscorts/beautiful-busty-brunette-available-today/101692487

Be careful out there, brothers. I have no idea what's going on here.

I've noticed the same Jack. Certainly strange to say the least.

As always think with the big head.

Cheers

So there are some new rules over at BP.

140 characters only and you must have a social media link.

Apparently, it is BPs way of dodging some legal issues in the states.

Girls also need to register a real phone number.

So this is how ladies are trying to work within the rules.

I would still head the warning though. It takes nothing to open and maintain a working Twitter account. I mean when this rule came into effect, it didn't really affect me any other than limited the character amount. So I just made a jpg with text and added to the pictures I post. No biggie.

I already had twitter, so it was simple. I think some of the links that girls are using are downright ridiculous.

Wow, thanks Jess. Great insight.

Now that I look, it does indeed look like every single ad has a URL included. I thought it was just a coincidence that some URLs were legit and some weren't and I hadn't pieced together that I was seeing URLs in every single ad. I hadn't even noticed a reduction in ad length but that does explain why some girls are now ignoring the space bar. Very clever of you to use a photo for your info. I'm sure the method will be widely adopted soon.

Jess, do you think having a real and active social media account for your business opens you up even more to LE scrutiny? In the age where we're taught how to spot bots and phishers, using bunk URLs to Disney Pixar or even creating bunk social media accounts with your name ending in random numbers conveys to the more perceptive among us that this person is going to scam us. I think SPs should take the time to create a legit Twitter account, even if they just post their hours on it. But if the speculation is that it's dangerous to do so... then I dunno.

I don't worry about my Twitter and LE. Not at all. Besides data-mining, what purpose would LE have with a twitter account? If anything, a real properly used indie twitter account, let's LE know that we are not the type they need to be worrying about. We are not pimped for example. Which we can all ageee would be a better use of resources.

They get more data from BP as a whole then single twitter accounts anyway. So I don't see where the harm is. Maybe I am missing it. Is there something specific that people are saying is a danger to using a legit twitter?

I get forcing people to use a second platform in order to use yours is going to cause issues for people. But I would think creating a legit twitter account with 1 tweet saying this is just here for BP is much better and wayyyy more professional then sending people to Disney and Pixar. That is just stupid and childish. Why send to a link that has nothing to do with you or the industry? Eacoecually something designed around kids when we are advertising adult things.

Make a fake URL link to a porn site, or back to the stupid political figures that have made all this BS become a thing in the first place. Not Disney. I can't believe that even needs to be said.

With that said, while having a fake URL social media link may not nessararily mean you are going to be scammed, it can show the level of professionalism the lady is putting into her job to get clients, and you can determine if you are willing to take the risk of having a lower level of professionalism once you are in the door too. That won't always be the case but I can it being a useful tool now for guys to filter out ads.

Perhaps I watch too many movies and read too many mystery novels. I just feel like if you're an active twitter poster and, if they ever needed it, LE could use your tweets to track an archive of your whereabouts. Might be less trouble than finding BP archives after you've deleted an ad.

But this is just my brain creating theories.
