In light of the recent death of the Chinese dude Wu Yongning who fell off the 62-storey building while doing his pull-ups stunt, and many more similar deaths before him, we must all wonder what would happen if people continue to die from these stunts and the numbers escalate ever higher and higher. So what do you think governments would do if it got to the point that thousands of such social media stunts people are dying per month? Would we start new laws that arrest such attention-seekers? Will social media be banned altogether? Or will we just shrug it off and say "Who cares? They are only killing themselves." ?

I call it Darwinism and these people are doing the gene pool a favor by helping to thin it out.

If they land on someone then something needs to be done. The fall is kind of fun, it's the sudden stop that sucks.

It'll never get to that point, and even if it did I'm not thinking we need another law for it.

In most cases already illegal, so don't see a great need for new laws.

Other than that as there was greater and greater publicity about it, presumably more and more people would realize "damn this is stupid, people are dying every day!"

But what if reaction is the opposite, as in: "Wow! Another man falls from a skyscraper video! Show me more!", and the ever-increasing interest in watching more such videos prompts more people do carry out such stunts in order to entertain and gain attention and fame, and of course more people to die.

Wow didn't know about this until you posted. Video for the curious.

Daredevils play with fire. It's in their nature. No law is going to stop them. Lots will always die.

62 stories is high. Just imagine what the footage looked like on the ground.

Going splat frankly doesn't have much appeal to people.

How many do you think are dying per month, this is the first I heard of but I heard of one of those sky rocket divers dying. But the governments do try to arrest these people...
