Of course stories like this rely upon readers conflating attempted to influence with succeeded in changing the results of.

All of the evidence shows yes to the first and NO to the second.

Of course it is the second which is important, indeed Western States engage in the former all the time.

It's entirely possible that the DNC hacks changed the result of the election. The most one can say is that the mechanics of voting and vote tabulation themselves were not hacked and disrupted by our Slavic Friends - as far as we know.

Surely you aren't defending the Russians and their American admirers by claiming 'we all know this stuff never works, but we can't stop ourselves from doing it'?

True though it may be, claiming and proving your clients are irretrievably stupid and moronic hardly does them credit, even if it gets them off. We still have to live with these guys handling the destiny of the world.

Besides, who says it never works? The Shah of Iran?

I'd award the lie of the year award to any organization which claims to the public that they are the source of irrefutable truth. Like Politifact claims.

They do not claim to be the source of irrefutable truth. All they do is compare statement made by various parties to those things, damn now what do they call them? Oh yea FACTS. You may have heard of them although from your posts I have my doubts. Trump certainly has not heard of them or completely disregards them.

From the Politifact website:

PolitiFact is a fact-checking website that rates the accuracy of claims by elected officials and others who speak up in American politics.

Yep, they purport to rule upon what the truth is. There's a fact for you.

Accuracy is the degree of adherence to or deviation from a standard. Those who assess accuracy don't establish the standard, they just make the comparison. You also use the word 'irrefutable', as if standards/truth was immutable. In fact they change quite often in the real world — many New Years see the standard year adjusted — when new more accurate measurements refute old standards and those entrusted with maintaining them announce the changed and improved versions as widely as they can.

Meantime you have yet to cite where and how Politifact claims their accuracy assessments are irrefutable. Can you?

I suppose that you have no need of politifact, since you believe every word of Trump and all republicans.
And for confirmation do you go to Breitbart or Fox, or do you go for a multitude of sources and check the both of them?

See the statement drawn from Politifact's website above. If Politifact's claim is only that that are determining "their truth", or "the best truth they know how to find", what would be the point of their assessments? Clearly, all who draw from them are interpreting Politifact's claim the same way I am, because they trot them out for "proof" of whether something is a lie or not, not for a "discussion" of contrary evidence.

Look at the title of this thread.
Multiple US intel agencies say that Russia influenced the election.
Trump, who is suspected of collusion didn't.

Read the politifact post and tell me what they got wrong.

No they purport the rule upon what is factual. Not sure why you have difficulty with that concept other than the FACT that Trump is completely divorced from FACTS.

Too funny, "rating the accuracy of claims",... does anybody actually realise how ridiculous that is.

And who the hell are these obviously biased, nothing more than news paper writers, who have no more access to documments than anybody else at some self proclaimed rag.

Its one thing to report confirmed facts,... quite another to rate what they happened to have dug up.

Hahahaha. You can't even quote yourself with accuracy.

Your first post says that they claim that they are the source of irrefutable facts.

Now you have backtracked to where you say that they rule (decide) what the truth is but they are not the actual source of those facts. Why do all you Trump supporters have so much problem with comprehension?

This is one time I agree. It is so ridiculous to think that there is ever any accuracy in any of Trumps claims. I hear that there is still a traffic jam from people trying to leave from his record sized inauguration.

Especially when reported by some past unemployed rag writers qualifications to make any claims.
