Trump will get them back in. His son-in-law will negotiate it.

Course it does. But the Russians took it to another level.
^^^^^ The Russians were organized. Almost ALL their athletes were / are doping with the knowledge, approval and "encouragement" of their athletic commissions and coaches. And they had an organized cover-up scheme going as well. Eventually, the lid blew off and the shit hit the fan.

Not much evidence to support that.

But it is not an insult to honest athletes who lose because the Russians did systemic doping? So what if they cheat. What a ridiculous statement.

And might as well let the Russians keep fixing American elections while they are at it. It would an insult to candidates if they won without having to defeat other candidates who received illegal help from foreign powers.

Once again, that is a ridiculous comment.

There's a ton of evidence, much of it going back a couple of years. I recollect a piece by a doping inspector about all the gadzillion ways the Russians tried to block him collecting samples. It read like a ludicrous James Bond novel with the poor guy leaving his hotel room at 5 AM, changing cars a couple of times and taking an indirect route to the athletes' complex. When he showed up to collect pee, the look of shock, confusion and sheer, helpless distress on the faces of the athletes was killer.

The IOC obviously had irrefutable evidence before making this serious decision.

They know that the Russians are very important to a successful Games and their non-participation minimizes those Games which in the end means loss of $$$ for this and future Games. We all know how greedy those bastards are and they would not make this decision unless they were sure.

Lots of cheating going on, lots of western athletes cheat using the "waiver" system getting crooked docs to write them notes. I agree there should be some impact and very close scrutiny applied, but banning a major nation at a time when relations are tense is NOT the correct remedy. Russia is a major Northern nation and an olympics without them is kinda useless. Just test the FUCK out of them and let them know that each + case will be a humiliating exclusion.

Or if they were pressured and offered certain financial guarantees ......

I have yet to see any direct evidence that there is state sponsored doping.

USADA caught boxer Alexander Povetkin for juicing twice in the last few years, his promoter is a billionaire. How come they weren't stopped?
