Buh Bye Rats...Islamic Jihad and Hamass. Hamass called it "a dangerous escalation against our people" LOL But digging tunnels under another country to kill people is ok ...

Seven Palestinians were killed Monday as Israel blew up what it said was a tunnel stretching from the Gaza Strip into its territory, a rare case of such an incident since a devastating 2014 war.
Ashraf al-Qudra, spokesman for the Hamas-led Gazan health ministry, confirmed seven men had been killed, with a further 12 injured.
Two came from Hamas' armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, while the other five were from the Hamas-allied militant group Islamic Jihad, the two groups confirmed.

Their deaths were announced after Israel "neutralised a terror tunnel leading into southern Israel," military spokesman Jonathan Conricus told journalists.
"The tunnel was detonated from within Israel, close to the security fence."
Tunnels dug by Gaza's Islamist rulers Hamas were a key issue in the last war with Israel in 2014, but discoveries of those stretching into the Jewish state have since been rare.
Hamas called Monday's incident "a dangerous escalation against our people".

It did not pledge a specific response but said "resisting the occupation... is a natural and guaranteed right for our people".
Islamic Jihad said in a statement that the tunnels were "part of the policy of deterrence to defend the Palestinian people".
Conricus said the Israeli military was not seeking further escalation.
He said the tunnel was targeted around two kilometres (less than two miles) from the Israeli village of Kissufim, but added that no Israelis had been in danger.

It was still being dug and no opening was found in Israeli territory, he said. The military had been monitoring it for "some time", Conricus said, declining to say when it was first discovered.
In April 2016, Israel's military said it had located and destroyed a tunnel extending from the Gaza Strip into Israel in the first such discovery since the 2014 conflict.
Hamas forces have used tunnels in the past to enter Israel and carry out attacks.

"We are developing breakthrough technology to deal with the tunnel threat," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement.
"We are implementing it. Today we located a tunnel and destroyed it. Whoever seeks to harm us will be hit."
Conricus also said Israel used advanced technology to locate the tunnel but declined to elaborate.

Interesting. Hamas sees the destruction of an Islamic Jihad tunnel into Israel as an escalation, not the tunnel into Israel. Sort of like when Franky blames Israel for killing Palestinian attackers in the act but not the actual attack.

If Mexican terror groups were routinely crossing the border in an effort to kill US civilians and destroy the country they'd be justified.

p.s. It seems this thread makes franky uncomfortable so he hasn't commented yet.

Drug smuggling and gangs.... so it could be argued.... but I prefer we take the law and Justice approach.

Kinda silly by Israel, they should have just observed and allowed them to complete it then they could have arrested any collaborators in Israel as well.

Why is it silly to destroy a tunnel built by terrorists crossing from Palestinian controlled territory to beside an Israeli civilian center?

The UN says that the tunnels were only ever used to attack the IDF, so no, they weren't necessarily terrorists.
Which means Israel just killed 7 militants and quite possibly ended a ceasefire.

Israel could of course end the blockade or end the occupation, if they wanted to stop attacks.

Oh what a surprise. Franky has absolutely no problem defending a terrorist organization building a tunnel across the border to come up right beside a civilian center with a bullshit claim that the tunnels are only meant for attacking soldiers.

And it's laughable that you claim the border restrictions are the cause of attacks when there were next to no border restrictions when Israel handed control of Gaza to the PA but there were still attacks.

See, there you go trying to dehumanize Palestinians by calling them terrorists for legit military tactics.

You should stop spreading hate and learn to spread the love.
(or at least see an sp)

1. Human rights are universal and indivisible and should be upheld without exception. This is as applicable in Israel and Occupied Palestine as it is elsewhere.
2. Palestinians and Israelis alike have the right to peaceful and secure lives.
3. Peace and stability require the willingness of all parties to the conflict to comply with international law.
4. There is no justification for any form of racism, including anti-Semitism, anti-Arab racism or lslamaphobia in any circumstance.
5. The battle against anti-Semitism is vital and is undermined whenever opposition to Israeli government policies is automatically branded as anti-Semitic.

And once again you claim that criticism of groups like Islamic Jihad is somehow racist.

Also noted is your continued pretense that Palestinian terrorism is legitimate. Good job living up to claims of supporting "3. Peace and stability".
Its not terrorism to build a tunnel to attack an occupying army.
They have a legal and moral right to fight against an illegal occupation.

Calling it 'terrorism' is an attempt to dehumanize Palestinians.

If you want to stop the fighting, give them their country or give them equal rights.

The problem with the Middle East is that there are no good guys, just bad guys and worse guys.

The US should tell everyone south of Italy to go fuck themselves and spend our time/energy/money elsewhere. A pox on all their houses.

Kills any more people....
Considering the opioid crisis I'd say they should declare the AMA a criminal enterprise and use RICO to go after them.

These days they appear to be the worst enemy.

It's strange. Israeli forces state what they are doing and you immediately consider them to be lying but when a terrorist entity states a tunnel to the edge of a village was only to target military you take it as gospel.

And if calling Islamic Jihad a terrorist entity is racist then Canada, the EU, the US, and other western style democracies must be racist.

There were other war crimes committed by both sides, but previously the tunnels were not used for terrorism, according to the UN.
Calling those digging them 'terrorists' is dehumanization of Palestinians.
The United Nations Human Rights Council report on the 50-day Gaza conflict said there was no indication Hamas’s cross-border tunnels were constructed to attack Israeli civilians, since the terror group exclusively targeted “legitimate” Israel Defense Forces positions during the summer war.

That's based on a legitimate source.
