Yeah. 92% of the 43% of the eligible voters who bothered to cast ballots wanted independence. Works out to 39% of the total population for, 61% against or didn't care.

Maybe they were afraid, maybe they were opposed, maybe they were apathetic, maybe they were suppressed. Whatever. whatever the reason, it means the result is entirely dubious, and untrustworthy as a statement of the people's will. At least when Trump lost to Hillary, the turnout was up in the 60% range.

The thing that bothers me (beyond obvious gerrymandering) is how few polling station there are in many poor (democratic trending) urban areas resulting in massive lines where there aren't those lines in wealthier areas.

I thought it was pretty obvious. If you're afraid of what the people will vote for, make sure the turnout's low. Worked better for Madrid than it did for Trump, but his team has three years and a bit to work on that. And they've started.

Interesting how no one's talking the dismal disaffection with their own politics that keeps more that a third of Americans from voting at all. Instead of trying to improve that involvement, and getting every possible voter registered, all the Republicans talk about is cutting the list and vetting voters more rigorously at the polls.

Yes we want to make sure illegals and dead people and multiple voters in the millions are not voting. Voter fraud is rampant.

I can give you thousands upon thousands of examples of voter fraud, all voting one way. Democrats.

Butler actually posted a justification of the IRA attacks on children. When confronted he tried the same line bin Laden used, that the terrorists are no worse than accidental civilian casualties in war.

It's public record here on terb that he says that, and he recently doubled down and said it again.

Then the FBI got involved.
