Entertaining all-star game. I actually forgot it was on and stumbled across it while channel surfing. Nice to see Happ come in and get the save. The game was on Rogers Sportsnet and the commentators were Dan and Buck. Much better than Fox.

this has become a complete mess, and Shapiro and his lackey GM, should share a lot of the blame and this unraveling will eventually cost Gibbons his job, when ultimatily the 2 guys who will do the firing are really the ones responsible

Glad I'm not the only one with this point of view. More than two months to go for the fans to stay away in droves. I believe he was brought in to improve Rogers' books. Hahahaha.

not a fan of Shatkins either, but, I think the September call ups will get the fans interested and should put some butts in the seats.

They will still get another few years. They took over in 2016. Usually these guys get about 5 years. Gibbons on the other hand...well that sports. He's just part of a marketing tool for the post part.

Usually guys get 5 years when they inherit a shit team. This was a team that got deep into the playoffs and have gotten progressively worse each year. A little bit in the way of aggressive attempts to acquire free agents or thinking out of the box, would have kept us competitive. How many more years of downslide and how many more years to build back up, all the while blaming Alex A. who, BTW, looks like he got Atlanta to the playoffs in year one.

Other than Jose Bautista, please name the players he brought to Atlanta?

So much for teams not trading within their division.

Drury reportedly suffers from migraines

Happ's a rental. The Yanks want to buy him for 2 months. At the end of that time, he would be a free agent and could sign with them anyway. It's not like a long-term trade.

I don't understand getting mediocre position players in return. We already have lots of mediocre position players. And we hae hot prospects as position players, guerrero, Bichette, jansen for example. Why are they not getting young strong healthy arms?

Shack, while I agree with you, it’s just the way it is. You can hope all you want, I’m telling you these guys are here for two more years. AA accomplished fuck all in his first 4 years. They get 5 years. That’s the pretty much the standard.

The problem is, we don’t have a private owner that treats this like a toy. (Marc Cuban)

We are treated like a way to make money, and Shapiro convinced Rogers he could make them money at the same time cut down on cost.

Um, maybe because other teams aren't willing to part with them? Maybe? Ya think?

then dont give them major league pitchers like Happ and OH. I am suggesting that we are not getting what we need for the future. A couple years ago, the Cubs got Chapman, and the Yankees got Glaybar Torres ...a budding superstar

Last time I looked whatever costs he has saved, he has lost multiple times over with the decrease in attendance/viewership/revenue.

I don't disagree with the other stuff you posted and I don't expect shapeero to get fired.

He probably has lost money, but he got the job by selling them of the fact he could make them money.

If there's no progress in the next two the years, the board will for sure fire his ass.
