one of the worse teams in baseball
I hope management is looking to the future in terms of trades
There are 9 teams with worse records, and a whole bunch teams that have 1 or 2 more wins then them.

Shapiro is president and CEO, same title Beeston held, are you saying Rogers is holding him back? If so where are you getting your information? As president and CEO he should have a free hand within reason. If he feels he has restraints put on his leadership that negatively effect his goals he should resign.Shapiro is handcuffed by not being able to do what he really wants (and what he's good at)... rebuilding. Maybe that will change now but I don't judge him based on what he's done to date because he's not been allowed to do what he was brought in to do, that is rebuild this team. Tinkering and adjusting won't cut it, they need to rebuild around the core young quality players they have (minus Osuna unfortunately).
As long as the fans demand the BJ's to be competitive now, it will continue to put off what needs to happen. Part of me hopes this downturn sticks so we can get on with rebuilding the team and getting back on the upswing. And that includes putting Donaldson on the market to see what he's worth and trading him if there's a deal to be made.
You don't become a good GM by making easy decisions. You have to make the tough decisions no one else wants to hear.
And not only that, this is a big market team, with no competition for the loyalty of 35 million Canadians and what they are willing to spend along with all the resources of the mega Rogers conglomerate.Shapiro is president and CEO, same title Beeston held, are you saying Rogers is holding him back? Given that the NYC, LA and Chicago markets are split, I believe the GTA / Southern Ontario market is by itself the largest in the majors. And not only that, this is a big market team, with no competition for the loyalty of 35 million Canadians and what they are willing to spend along with all the resources of the mega Rogers conglomerate.
He can do whatever he wants to make this team competitive in a very short time. Yet he still refuses to spend money on the team, the money that the fans deserve for him to spend.
Yes. He has a free hand so long as he keeps filling Rogers Centre. Thus the conflict.Shapiro is president and CEO, same title Beeston held, are you saying Rogers is holding him back?
Can contracts be insured? Yes.Do baseball teams have insurance for when players get injured? Specifically I'm thinking of Tulo. I realize his salary would still affect the cap but if the team wasn't actually paying for nothing (i.e., they were able to collect insurance on his injury) then maybe they'd be more likely to trade him? (or at least try)
We used to call that screwed, blued (how ironic!) and tattooed...Can contracts be insured? Yes.
Is Troy Tulowitzki's contract insured? To my knowledge, no.
Troy Tulowitzki has a full no-trade clause in his contract, he's not going
anywhere unless he wants to, & if he wants to, to a destination of his choice.
Cap, luxury tax, whatever. A factor that limits limits spending more. Can contracts be insured? Yes.

There is no cap in major league baseball.

Meanwhile the bullpen blows another game...lol.Osuna got another 7 day extension on his AL till May 28th: https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/m...blue-jays-roberto-osuna-administrative-leave/
Unless there's some dramatic turn of events, he's pretty much done as a BJ. If him punching his girlfriend and throwing her down the stairs are true, he'll get a massive suspension and the Jays will be forced to cut ties with him.Osuna got another 7 day extension on his AL till May 28th: https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/m...blue-jays-roberto-osuna-administrative-leave/
We may see him in September.Guerrero is hitting .423 with 8 homeruns and 45 RBI for AA New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
I don't think he's ready for MLB this year, but he might be next year
Ontario population is about 14 million, most of it in a 2 hour radius of the GTA.I don't know about that. Even though those cities have two teams, the states those cities are located in have huge populations. The state of New York has about 20 million people, plus they probably get the market from a state like New Jersey where there's no team.
Why isn't he in Buffalo?Guerrero is hitting .423 with 8 homeruns and 45 RBI for AA New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
