How did the Battle of Ontario go tonight?
As Babcock likes to say : "didn't start on time". They're probably feeling too good about themselves and if not for Andersen, they would've been down by 5 early.

We'll see how they bounce back Monday.

Go Leafs Go!:applouse::applouse::applouse::yawn::applouse::applouse::applouse::yawn:(Defense needs focus more in the middle instead of the end zone that will create more offensive plays!)

The Maple Leafs have signed U.F.A. D Roman Polak to a 1 Year, $1,100,000 contract (approximately $900,000 prorated).

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu eh. bjjgal what are you doing here?

BJJ is perhaps the most difficult discipline, it takes years of training and dedication to master. Shouldn't you be at your dojo perfecting your art.

Signing Roman Polak can't hurt, provided he's fit again. The Sens successfully trapped the Leafs, other teams are going to follow suit.

It took you two posts to flame me? You are quick to assume but not accurate.

Actually I know quite a bit about martial arts, I sweated blood to achieve a Green Belt in Judo. Our master was tough, he demanded a full battery of calisthenics and a one mile run before he would teach a class. We had to run in our Judogi through the neighbourhood. It wasn't just about cardio, it was to teach us humility. There were many hecklers around. I'm sure you have achieved the highest order of BJJ, tell us about your experiences.

You claimed in another thread that bjj stands for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I'm fascinated and wish to learn more.

Leafs management and coaching love Roman.

I have a friend whose son is on the Leafs and he told me two weeks ago that as soon as he was healthy he was going to get signed for a year.

Looking for help penalty killing and some physical play. Also want to make sure the younger blue liners that can go to the Marlies easily get down there and play a lot of minutes.

One year contact at that kind of money is disposable, he could also be moved at the trade deadline depending on the situation of the team for a second or third round pick

It is a low risk good signing

I'm surprised that of all people you were the first one to respond to a new Leafs thread started by this obnoxious troll.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem getting into any legitimate discussion with her/him/it once it's cleaned up her acts and shown some respect to the other posters, but starting a new tread trying to create a controversy on a non issue was clearly another attempt to troll.
I guess it took me a bit of time to figure out that it is impossible to have a logical, intelligent, respectful and mature discussion with this troll. I finally reached my point of no return with "it" and it is not unreasonable to expect that each poster will do the same at their own pace. I was just hoping to speed up the process. He already got banned once before for the same behaviour.

Actually, Brock Lesnar learned it in 1 year. But then he was training bjj almost every day of the week

Although I Leafs fan, I get no satisfaction from the plight of the Habs. As a teenager, I hated the Broad Street Cheap Shot Artist with a passion. With no Stanley Cup win for the leafs in my lifetime, the 1976 Stanley Cup Final remains my fondest memory. That's why I've always found it difficult to hate The Habs - I hold the Sens in disdain - but not The Habs.

Sweetest picture ever taken!

Very similar with me.

I always root against the Habs (mainly because their fans are so smug), but I always respected those teams that put the Flyers in their place. IMO, Robinson lead the charge and remains my all-time fave Hab along with Beliveau.

p.s. Just saw the pic after posting this. Beautiful.

Trolls sometimes add a little more spice here and I'm sure there are other posters who like me are having a good time poking fun at them. We're a little guilty trolling this one I guess. Lol

This troll is a little unique as it likes to put up a lot of smoke screens, like

- it is a Leafs fan,
- it is a hockey expert and prognosticator,
- it is a bjj expert,
- it has an enormous dick,
- it calls itself a "gal"

The more it posts the more it's exposing the weird little fantasy world it's living in.

Not true, I can't suck myself off like Ron Jeremy. ;)

Phil, of course Brock Lesnar is going to pick it up quickly, he is an NCAA wrestling champion. For us mere mortals, it would take considerably more time to master a submission martial art.

How much of a cap hit are Horton, Robidas and Lupul. How much flexibility will the Leafs have at the trade deadline? At least one trouble spot is off the books.

I think the odds makers did the Leafs a big disfavour by calling them the favourites because that made the headline news in the hockey world and caught a lot of unwanted attention from the other teams. It was also premature to say the least as the Leafs haven't really beaten any real good team other than maybe Chicago. It could also get to the heads of the kids that they are so good that less than an honest effort might get them a win and Ottawa proved that they wanted more to win from start to finish.

I'm sure Babcock will make sure they have a better start tonight as LA may just be the best team this year and anything less than a complete effort could be disastrous. This is the first real test to see if they should really be considered a serious contender.

In the end, all that really matters is success in the playoffs. Half of the teams in the NHL make the playoffs and frankly, the team that earns the most points during the regular season does not win the whole thing more times than they do. The best teams in the league will only win 50 to 55 of their games during the regular season which means they will lose or not gain two points in a third of their games. For Leaf haters, or trolls, who gloat about the Leafs losing a game know absolutely nothing about the game. A troll is a sad and lonely person who has to compensate for their insecurities and shortcomings as a human being by trying to show others on a review board how much they know but in fact the opposite happens. Case in point, predicted Detroit 4, Toronto 1, lol. Disappeared with its tail between its legs. Lol.

Moore has won the 4th line Centre job. Fehr has been put on waiver. Also Rosen has been sent down to the Marlies and Polak may replace Carrick for tonight's game.

At least one trouble spot is off the books (Cowen).
Horton: $5,300,000 for this season & 2 more.
Lupul: $5,250,000 for this season
Robidas: Stephane Has left the island
Cowen: The way I read Capfriendly, he's costing the Leafs $750,000 in cap space this season due to his buyout.
Gleason: $1,333,333 in buyout costs
Grabovski: No cap cost, but $1,791,667 for this season, and the next 3 due to his buyout.
And of course, Kessel: $1,200,000 for this season, and the next 4.
