at least 20 dead and 100 injured...watching the videos on youtube shot from smarthphone where you hear all the gunshots is so hard
Literally some goes from "jumping and fun time" type from the show to where they are screaming on the ground

edit: now its over 50 dead and 200 injured. fucking hell

Now up to 50 dead and over 200 injured.

From auto it sounds like it actually was an automatic weapon, if so, since possession of automatic weapons is quite strictly regulated in the U.S. a focus of the investigation will certainly be how and why he had access to the same.

The murderer who was firing from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, has been identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, of Mesquite, Nevada (on the border with Arizona), described as a person known to local law enforcement.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_Nevada Nevada has one of the most liberal states law for guns.
Also personal sales are allowed and it definitely was sometype of rifle

Currently being the highest amount of death of a mass shooting in the states as of now. Surpacec in number the Orlando shooting

^ All true, however, the automatic weapons ban in the U.S. is federal, (laws passed in 1935 and 1986) law and possession and sale require permits from the ATF you cannot go into a gun shop and purchase a fully automatic weapon.

Not that a person planning a mass shooting likely cares, but doing so is a federal crime carrying serious penalties
WRONG!!!

All you have to do is buy a "bump stock" on Ebay and you can convert a semi AR-15 into a full automatic.
Its perfectly legal. It might not be so legal anymore after this horrific shooting though

Where's Fuji? According to him, the police fail to do their job if they had to use their guns. They should have been able to negotiate with the shooter and don't need to be equipped with military style rifles. They should be like Britain and depend on the Army to provide backup firepower.

Probably not an automatic rifle. Shooting in auto is wildly inaccurate. Likely semi auto rapid fire, which can seem like automatic fire in tragic situations. Bump fire is still considered semi auto because the trigger is still pulled every time to fire a cartridge. Illegal in Canada.

Fully automatic firearms are legal in the U.S. if you have the right licensing. Jo Blow citizen is highly unlikely to have one and they are expensive. We're talking high thousands to tens of thousands of dollars. Those licensed for full auto also almost never commit crimes with them. Tend to be wealthy old rich dudes in charge of successful companies. It's also a myth semi autos are easily convertible by filing something or inserting a paper clip, etc. Manufacturers go through great lengths to ensure this is not the case.

Phil I have family in the U.S. who are probably more well armed then the Canadian military. Was always told by them that fully automatic was illegal. If it was legal I am sure the would have some of those guns.

You can debate later about legalities and whether the National Rifle Association claimed responsibility in this latest US mass murder but right now I feel for the victims and their families. Estimates place the wounded at over 200. Totally insane and terribly sad.

Not an AR-15 (assuming thats what the shooter had). There's not a whole lot recoil with those, plus if you're firing into a huge crowd your shots dont have to be very accurate

The question to be is, was the shooter a Neo Nazi?
They're saying It wasn't political or religious, the guy maybe snapped, went postal or disgruntled employee. He killed himself before cops got him. His girlfriend is black or looks black/asian, so I doubt he's a nazi.

I wonder if this will still be news in 3 weeks. This is such a common occurrence in the U.S now that some of these shootings barely make the news.

In a few days CNN will be back talking Trump. Black booty 50+ people killed is not a common occurrence in the U.S.
