I was sitting in right field tonight...watching Aaron Judge play catch with kids in the stands and making sure they got to keep the ball. What a good guy he is and I think he will stay that way.

He looks like he will be a great ambassador for the game. Hopefully MLB will promote those behaviors and other players will follow suit.

Judge is currently tied with Joe DiMaggio for Yankees rookie season home run record at 46. Joltin Joe never hit that many home runs again, he was mainly a contact hitter.

Dimaggio hit 29 homers in his rookie season , which was the Yankees record until Judge broke it just before the All-Star break.

DiMaggio hit 46 bombs his second season.

361 home runs (82nd all time) indicate he was a lot more than mainly a contact hitter.

DiMaggio missed 3 seasons to military service in the middle of his career.
Had he not, his projected numbers (using his stats from just before/after military) would've moved him to 445 home runs, 32nd all time.

this thread is about Judge...and I hope he has a great career. 10 more years at this pace would put him over 500 and Ho F material. I just wanted to comment he also seems like a really good guy. I hope he does well in post season. I mostly want to see Edwin Encarnacion in the world series, but Judge is second choice.

Buck said that Judge was tied with DiMaggio for the Yankees home run record, it was in fact 29 in his first season.

Joltin Joe was a contact hitter, he didn't rely on the home run for his production. He never hit over 40 again in his career, but his RBI's and Batting Average exceeded that. The best contact hitter I ever saw was Rod Carew, Joe played the same way, except he would hit home runs instead of bunts. Now that I think about it Ichiro is better than Carew.

The Jays season is a washout but we must appreciate the little things - Rougned Odor won't be in the playoffs either.

Jays fans have class, they showed Joey Boom Bats the love.

A-Judge annoys me, he's not A-Roid. How can he call himself a Yankee and not be someone I love to hate. Notwithstanding that, I love the idea of Paul Bunion being erased from the record books. Dirty cheatin scumbag.

Exciting player to watch as he hits some real towering shots, but man he needs to cut down on strikeouts.

Nope, strikeouts are no longer frowned upon by MLB teams as it was before. OPS, on base% etc are far more important in today's game

A-Judge just shitcaned Paul Bunion's record - I love it.

That fact that Paul Bunion got all the praise and Barry Bonds all the venom made me sick.
