Toronto is a world class city, nothing underscores that more than recent events with Tafelmusik.
Tafelmusik gave their first concert in 1984, founded by Jeanne Lemon she's been the orchestra's Music Director ever since. She has now retired and the former Concertmaster of La Orcestra De La Scala (no less) is taking her place: Elisa Citterio. She will make her debut with Tafelmusik Thursday night at Koerner Hall.
Tafelmusik initially gave their concerts at the gorgeous St Paul Trinity Church, the location was part of the charm. Now they are globally renowned, considered the best baroque ensemble in the world.
