I'm a middle of the road voter who has voted both conservative and liberal. That may be frustrating for both left and right mono-thinking pundits but in Ontario - people like me will swing the election. Last time I really wanted to vote Wynne & the liberals out. I didn't vote that way because the conservative leader started a campaign as if he already won. So arrogant and bruising was his campaign - he virtually challenged voters to vote against him - which we did.

Jump ahead to this coming spring election - I really want to get Wynne out of office. The election is for the conservatives to lose. So why does Patrick Brown lead off with an obvious lie ? Wynne is not on trial - he is a lawyer and knows the difference - it is slander for the far left who are voting conservative anyways. I want Wynne out but I'm never voting for a loud mouth lying Trump north. Kathleen Wynne has been a disaster with Hydro, debt, ... just about everything you pay monthly - he should focus.

It's early but when I saw this sleaze obvious lie - I was thinking - here we go again. If anyone has pull in the PC party - don't fuck it up. Don't take the swing vote for granted.

I'm in a similar boat, being middle of the road, but I'd rather base my vote on policy than on a grudge. Wynne is a giant liar. If Brown turns out to be a giant liar too, I'll be disappointed. But I'll still vote for him because he'll be far better than Wynne in terms of policy decisions.

How can anyone with half a brain vote Liberal again after how they have run the province. They are dishonest and incompetent. Give somebody a chance - anybody.

As often happens in Canadian politics, it would be because they expect even worse from the opposition.

Six weeks is the litigation limit. The closer the apology or litigation is filed to the date of the election. The better for Wynne. Its simple strategy...

Lots of good reasons to vote Liberal if you are a min wage earner, student getting free tuition, like electric cars, not filthy rich, have no idea what Brown stands for (does anyone know? ) ....

Are you so sure? What has he said about policy? All he does is criticize.

The problem is in the last few elections the PC's ran kooks. All they need to do is run a boring, buttoned down business guy with middle of the road ideas and they will sail to victory. They don't even need a good leader, just someone who is not crazy.

Nope. Kook after kook.

Bingo!!!! I've been waiting to hear what he would do if he was in charge, but so far nothing.
Politically it's probably the right move. If he spends the campaign reminding people of Wynne's flaws they may not notice he hasn't said anything concrete.

Unfortunately Patrick Brown continues the pattern. Another kook.

No they didn't. Tim Hudak is a good guy I've met him. Good family man always willing to help his community.
John Tory is certainly not a kook.
Current PC leader Patrick Brown is to the right of both Hudak and Tory. But he's smart and knows the media is just waiting to pounce on him slipping up. Just like they did with Hudak and Tory.

For the record I believe Kathleen Wynne to be a far bigger kook than anyone in the PC Party.

Million job Tim and his plan to subsidize beer, gut the civil service, etc, is a radical kook.

I agree that Tory is a moderate.

Did he really plan to subsidize beer and what exactly was this plan?

As for gutting civil service, they certainly need a good gutting to trim an morbidly obese man's amount of fat. I just don't think it's possible to get such legislation through.

If you like corruption, bribing, deleting evidence, mismanaging the energy file, wasting taxpayers money it goes on and on....... Oh by the way the only the thing that that we know Wynne stands for is getting reelected. If you don't like Brown vote NDP but for God's sake grow a brain.

He campaigned on "a buck a beer" until it generated too much ridicule then he flip flopped and said he just wanted beer in corner stores but not at a lower price.

I'm not going to vote for a to replace an arrogant pigheaded twerp with another arrogant pigheaded twerp. If someone can't beat Wynne now - how competent can they be at running a government ? It's easy - apologise and let it go. She will want to push the issue closer to election and then when he inevitably loses, she can point out that he is a court certified liar. It's not worth it - it's a self made distraction that plays into her hands. Basically - is this the best the PC leader can offer up ? Read a newspaper, talk to people. If the PC lose this time - I figure they couldn't win an election against Hitler if it was held in a concentration camp.
