I think the TO fans at the game are just being too nice. The fans seem to have accepted that that's the way it's been for the refs to flavour the us teams. They didn't even bother to boo.

Can you imagine the riots it would cause if the home team is screwed so badly by the refs in a European or South American soccer match ? The NBA refs will continue to stiff the Raptors because we're just too polite and they have no reasons to fear for making blatantly biased calls.

Nice bounce back after the loss to the Bucks. Detroit really misses their PG.

smuddan: I hear you re officiating, it has to be the worst in any of the major NA professional sports. Unfortunately if you watch a lot of the non- Raptor games, you see some awful calls there too. These guys and gals are really inconsistent. At some point the NBA has to come up with a method of improving the officiating so it is consistent and impartial. The image it projects is anything but positive.

I'm totally fine accepting human errors and inconsistencies of the refs as they are only human. It happens in all sports with referees and judges, but don't you find that the majority of bad calls always go against the Raptors and our star players don't get the same preferred treatment like the other stars ? The league through the refs are doing its best to help the big market teams to go as far as they can and the Raptor fans are helping them out being as nice as they are.

Another win! Should have been an easy win but.......wasn't! Friday vs Washington hope everyone is ready for that one.

smuddan: Thought Raps came out on the short end of the questionable calls, again. If the theory of experienced players getting the benefit of the doubt when it comes to calls is in effect, it does not apply to the Raps. JV gets shafted almost nightly, DD and JLow do get some calls but nothing like some of the stars get. Ibaka should have earned his dues by now too and still gets shafted. Personally I think that system is crap, just be consistent with the calls both ways, players/teams will know what they can or can't get away with and adjust. Raps do a lot of complaining, I wonder if that has a negative effect on the officiating or does ignoring the bad calls just encourage them to continue the stupidity.
I would love to know what the league is doing with the reviews of the officiating in the final 2 minutes. If they are seeing an official or officials continually mess up are there consequences and if so what are they?

Keep it rolling guys just like green & Ross :sorry: starting group needs to up their game sooner than later so we don't have to depend on bench so much. But I'm hopeful they'll get it rolling soon ...like green&ross:sorry::bolt:

and the officials, been trying to find articles but generally the rip on officials this year is tied to the fact they lost more than half their officials in the last two years to retirements, promotions and such and with no mentorship, newbies and rookies are being bunched together and suffering the wrath. And vet players are taking advantage of these guys. Hopefully it will be more consistent in the playoffs where some of the rifraff will be sifted out. Till then, heed the calls......

Friggin' horrible start but it is how you finish and the Raps finished well. Finally Miles showed up, need that from him on a regular basis! The youngsters are good and getting better. If Siakim ever puts everything he has together he will be awesome. Just hope everyone stays healthy. Don't think the rookies sprain is that bad, just let him sit for a week or so and he should be fine. Surprised Powell hasn't looked better replacing him. His star is fading fast.
Officiating? Not even sure that is the right word for NBA refs....whistle blowers? maybe a better fit!

Cavs and Celtics both lost Saturday. Raps get the Hornets tonight(6:00 PM). Raps need this, as a win gives them a 2 game lead over Boston. It would be nice to see them come out, kick ass, and put them away without any drama.

2 games left against each team at the end of March/April that will determine seeds. Cavs may end up anywhere from 6th to 2nd but a split against us pretty much places them behind us. Celts held their own last night against the Rockets (who are here Friday !) but they still have this and another western swing left. If we sweep them we are in but a split might be enuff. Yes, there's 20 games left but if Raps stay in kick ass mode, as I said before, a run for the ages! They have 4 back to backs they'll have to deal with but there's where depth will be our friend. Still, it's game by game but I like the prospect of a high fun factor thru June! Let's go Raps!

Cavs will finish no better than 3rd overall in the East. That team has issues. Lack chemistry! Celtics are the competition for first overall in the East. Now come playoffs Cavs could come to life as LJ is just that special!

The Cavs defense will be their downfall and also coaching ... Nobody they got were defensive stoppers and none have playoff experience ...

Agree Cavs have issues, Raps have one too as they can't find a SF that can shoot. None of the guys on the current roster can hit 3's with any consistency. Miles looks great one night then sucks for a few games. They signed a G leaguer to a 10 day to see what he can do. Might see him tonight vs the Hawks. OG gives you decent D but is inconsistent as a scorer. Powell looks lost!

Well...That was speshul! Down 17 and rally in the second half, without Ibaka, to win in OT, not to mention the Raps had played Atlanta the night before. And should mention, the win clinches a playoff spot! In the first half the Raps were pathetic! Third quarter they kicked ass!, May have been Powell's best game this year. 17 points not awesome but a major improvement.

Rockets on Friday. They will have to play hard for 4 quarters to beat the Rockets. It should be interesting to see what they can do against an elite team after barely getting by two teams that probably will not make the post season!

I think the RAps have another level that they can play at, but there average play is good enough to beat most teams in the league. I actually thought Detroit played really well last night. They have some pretty comfortable shooters at the 3 point line. Drummond is a beast on the boards and defensively. Griffen is no doubt an all star. Hey we can't expect to beat any team in this league. Only Golden State and maybe Houston have that luxury. Houston is stacked with talent and depth now too. Our team looks real good in the East. We've planned pretty good for the future. Demar and Lowry have 2 years left each on contract I think. we have great young players to pick up the slack if they're not around after the 2 years. Going forward we probably have to get lucky in the draft again. Maybe a couple of these call ups might pan out going forward? Who knows maybe Malcolm Miller ends up being a gem. He's a 6'7 guard with long arms and a pretty sweet stroke.

I think a win against the Rockets may finally wake up the U.S media . This could be " one " of the biggest games in Raptor history .
National televised game in the U.S. lets hope we put on a show
