Demar's got to let this go. He's gonna get a reputation for being a pussy. Now he's crying that he no longer wants a relationship with Masai? What a loser. He's pushing that lame ass argument all the time, "not what you said, but the way you said". Good point "mynameis" Everyone heard Masai say "No one is untouchable". How much clearer did DeRozan need to hear. Us fans were "loyal to him all these year, and then he bitches out in every series against Lebron?....now he's going whine forever?....Let it go man"
Demar has some great points and this city loves him and will miss him but the more he wines the more he doesn't look like the better man ... Also the problem with the NBA is everyone thinks their a superstar and want max money . Demar you are a all star who was traded for a playoff MVP superstar . Whar does he think ? That if guys like Durant , Lenord or Lebron come along the team will say no to the other ream cause Demar is loyal .. Trust me if they could have traded

Does anyone remember our point guard Mike James? That guy scored over 20pts 6 assists for us. Doesn't make him a superstar to build a team around. The team was weak. He was taking all the shots. Players look a lot better on a weak team taking all the shots. DeMar is much better than Mike James, but Kawhi is much better than Derozan....so are about 20 other players in the league.
I knew the Raptors were even making a mistake back in the day when they decided to build around Vince rather than McGrady. Vince could get shut down by Spreewell and others in the playoffs. Mcgrady was unstoppable, and much better potential on defense as well. Both of these guys were better scorers in the moment against good teams than Derozan.
I don't dislike DeRo. I applauded him getting better every year, and stood up for him. But he wasn't bring us on his back to the promised land. He'd be a great 2nd, 3rd option behind 1st tier superstars. Think Harrison Barnes. Looked great on Golden State. Not so good when he left.

As much as I like Demar as a player and a person I too am sick of the whining. Demar, the city, hell, the country will miss you! We have enjoyed having you here and watching you progress. You will not be forgotten, but, if you don't stop the bitching, you could be remembered for the wrong reason. Now having said that, Masai should have called Demar and given him a heads up, especially after telling him he would not be traded.

IMO Raps improved with the trade as long as Lowry buys in. If he wants to win he should buy in! Will Powell ride the bench like he did last year or can he rebound and become a useful piece? Miles and Ibaka will have to step up their games too. Green and a healthy Leonard should have this team competing for another Eastern title and a long playoff run. The bench has to prove last year was not a fluke and that they will and can compete. Another unknown is Nurse, he goes from friend and mentor to "the man". Trades may still be coming and it could and should be another exciting year.

Rumour mill has it Greg Monroe has signed a 1 year contract with the Raptors, in the 2 million range. Solid second center!

he played almost 20 minutes /game last year for Boston; decent points and rebounds. It did get down to 10 minutes for the playoffs and I remember his cardio didn't look so hot when he was running the floor. He got gassed pretty good at times.

Good signing. Was a big time prospect coming into the 2010 draft. Solid scoring big man, decent rebounder.

As stated once or twice by Raptor nation, it's Jared Sullinger 2.0. Cheap vet with limited skills with an upside potential that, if it doesn't work out, didn't cost us much. Poeltl's defence will be missed as Monroe doesn't rim protect much (but he's great if you miss!) and disappears come playoff time (where have I heard that before?) but if he brings Detroit Greg, he'll be a piece for Nurse to utilize in his 12 man rotation....minutes are going to be Nick's toughest chore to try to keep happiness and motivation with this group. 46 days till physicals and camp......lets go Raptors!

gfe: read and reread your post before I finally figured out what Jared Sullinger 2.0. meant!. I sure didn't want to see him anywhere around the Raps again, China may be too close!

Monroe comes cheaper and I think(hope) he is a better fit with a better attitude. Don't know what Nurse will do, but Casey would have given him an opportunity and if he dogged it he would be at the end of the bench.

BTW Bruno is still available, anyone besides Masai, surprised?

I can’t believe we live in an era where Kyle Lowry is making $31m a season.

In 2003/04 Championship season Chauncey Billups scored 16 points/game, shot 394 and 388 from 3pts line, 3.5 boards and 5.7 assists, 1.1 steals

last year Kyle Lowry took his team to an Eastern Conference title with 16 points on 420 shooting and 400 from 3point line, 5.6 boards and 6.9 assists and 1.1 steals ( and I'm pretty sure Kyle took more charges than Chauncey)

Guys always look better when surrounded by better players and winning championships. Kyle does what he has to do and does it pretty well.

I was thinking the same thing of trading him. But, when you look at his stats he is in the top 5 or something among PG!
Good point however KLo did not have as much playing time in 2017/18 season as he did in prior years. On another note there is better than 50/50 chance that Kawhai signs with Toronto after this season!!!

He's still a kid by pro standards so Rockets took a flyer. Not on roster so no harm to them and they'll hope (like Masai did!) for an upside!

I think KL's stats were also a bit lower than they might be in other situations as he was expected to be more of a playmaker and DD was the number 1 guy.
