Wonky, you are right he can't sit out. If he does he won't be a free agent at the end of the season. I just hope he decides he will play here and does with top effort. If he arrives and has a negative attitude that will bring the whole team down. If he is healthy, physically and mentally, he could spark this team to go further than it ever has!

There is a new coaching staff in place here. Will everyone buy in to the program and will it be the right program?

Remember when Alonzo Mourning sat out instead of coming to Toronto and then ended up in maybe Miami..... how did that play out I forget.

Insidious you are talking about Bruce Bowen he was more pesky, chippy and cheap at times. Kawhi defends with extreme length and athleticism. He draws comparisions to Scottie Pippen. Not only is he known for being a good one on one defender he is also known for being a good help defender.

I have to hope that Masai kept the type of game Nurse wants to play in mind. I would say bringing in 2 guys that can shoot 3s and defend the perimenter the answer is yes.

.
Alonzo Mourning was late in his career and he didn't miss out a year already. He also didn't sit out, he just didn't report and was waived immediately. It was almost like it was pre-planned. missing out 2 years in a row in the NBA can't be any good for your game. Too long to be out of the game. He will come and play.

Emotion aside, and all happens as it should, for this season we've added the second best all rounder in the league, a 3 point threat who defends and is a solid citizen, which super upgrades raps at both ends, a new direction that may be offensive oriented backed up with defensive skills and purpose, bench mob has another year under it and Bebe has moved on. It's the ultimate "can't wait to see what this season brings us" as it can actually end up as the worst or best season in franchise history. Can't wait to sit back and let the drama unfold.....lets go Raptors!

Toronto will sell itself. He may not be as enamored as Derozan, DD came from Compton, Toronto was like a breath of fresh alpine air to him.

Did a Google search on where in Los Angeles Leonard is from. He's from Moreno Springs in the far west of the city, not far from Ontario County. An area with a large Italian American community - he's going to like Toronto.

without Poetle and Nogeira are we not going to want to pick up another back up center?
Based on that news show today, Masai and team don't seem to be done with moves yet. I hope there will be a few more moves before training camp but this is obviously the primary hole in current roster that needs to be dealt with. Based on how much Masai was sweating through this conference, there's a ton of anxiety about past, present and future. But that's why they're paid the bigs bucks...#itsabusiness :very_drunk::very_drunk:

Depends on what you consider is the skill set of a backup center. In a small ball scenario a 3rd center is just a paid cheerleader.

Kawhi is a pretty quiet guy. A lot of what we think we know about him is speculation.

Media wants to create narratives. For example one sportscaster claims sending to toronto was vindictive. I say ot was all business and toronto offered the best deal. No other offer included a guy of demars caliber.

Also i heard that danny green is one of kawhis closesr teammates. Danny also knows masai from denver. That could help kawhi settle in morr easily.

Ultimately good fans and winning games will go a long way.

He may decide that being in the east gives a more clear route to thd finals.

Ankle breaker - and not in the good way.

I'm shocked though at American press talking about the Raps as legit and even more so, praising the teams new found defensive prowess.

It was Skip Nadlis who said that, I was listening to it on satellite radio to get the American perspective. He said Pops shipped him off to Canada for being a pain in the ass.

I read a few American writers opining that Leonard doesn't like Toronto because of our cold climate, as if Toronto is any colder than Chicago, Boston, Milwaukee, New York, Philly, Detroit, Cleveland or Minneapolis.

I researched a little further into Moreno Springs, I found out that that section of the San Bernardino area has been infiltrated by black and Latino gangs. The Italians are moving further north. To the south is barren desert.

Leonard flew into town last night - no fleshy part of the thigh for him. Didn't know he was the MVP of the 2014 Playoffs. Makes sense since that was a very old Spurs team.

The Round Mound of Pound has an op.

Tulo didn't want to come to Toronto either, he's proven to be a bust. I'm hoping that Sir. Charles is correct.

That's a ridiculously small dais!

Yup and he is dead wrong. No other team gave an offer even close to the Raptors.

If there's any fuult in that it is that perhaps we could have gotten him for less.
