I know what they say but I don't believe the number (too high). Same with the CPI number (too low). These numbers are the work of cleaver government accountants.
If these figures occurred under the Harper Government would they still be legitimate? This is a right wing link that I posted, and they seem to agree with this assessment. So who in your opinion should we be trusting to publish the numbers that you think are real??

Well, let's try this. American economy buoyant, growth at 3%! This President is really doing a bang on job.

Proof positive that you can't credit/blame the Federal Gov't (Liberals). Similarly you can't credit Trump in the States.

And
America is still running on an Obama budget and Trump hasn't been able to get any legislation through yet.

Wait and see where the economy is a few months after Trump gets his first budget passed.

Economic performance is difficult to directly link to government policy as there is often a very long delay between the policy announcement, its implementation and ultimately its impact
While some of the current Canadian stats are encouraging and positive, they are more likely to be dependant upon increased US economic activity , than anything Justin has done.

From a long term perspective you will likely need to judge Justins performance on events which happen long after he has left the office
His decision to implement a carbon tax independent of US action has the potential to severely undermine our long term competitiveness.
He is a very principled and some may admire him for that, however the economic cost may be very high and Canadian action on climate will not make a difference if the US , China do not act similarly

This is true but somehow you forgot about that when observing the growth in the US after eight years of Obama and you somehow want to attribute it there to a President who hasn't even gotten a single piece of legislation enacted yet, not to mention a budget.

I agree with you that it's policies from a few years ago that are driving the economy today and that the US is a big factor in the Canadian economy.

Thanks Obama!

Obama was handed an economy that had no where to go but up.

Obama has overseen the longest period of sustained growth in modern American history, soon too be the longest sustained growth ever.

He was a fantastic President and embodies the argument for a third term.

All Trump has done so far is take credit for Obama's achievements while failing to do anything himself. No legislation, no budget. Nothing.

Meanwhile the Obama economy continues to expand

Do not put words in my mouth you pathetic liar
No where in my post did I mention the current or former US president

This is they type of shit you pull all the time
If you ever want to be credible STOP IT

If you spent more time reading what I post than attacking me you might learn something

Thanks Obama!
Obama has integrity and is a decent human being, qualities the current president lacks and can not buy
Obama however does not deserve huge credit for any US growth (which may sputter) as his policies could hardly be described as accommodative for economic development.
The current US growth is likely more attributable to the natural ebbs and flows of demand
The stock market is being driven by the promises of Trump tax reform and infrastructure build which may not happen

for someone who portrays himself as an expert on so many subjects it is amazing how little you truly understand

Now you're trying to have it both ways, sorry. You were right the first time. The current Canadian economy is primarily driven by policy in the US under Obama

No
The current Canadian economy is primarily driven by policy in the US under The Federal Reserve as well as ebbs and flows in US demand

prior to you bringing it up I had applied no attribution of any performance to any specific US administration
Re-read the posts moron

As per usual you muddied the waters and tried (and failed) to imply that I was pro-Trump and anti-Obama

Its little wonder you are the most despised person on this board

Sadly you have not learned ignorance and arrangance is a terrible combination

Trudeau has embarked on massive income redistribution with the child benefit payments. That is a huge amount of money going into the economy. Plus the US economy is also pulling us up. A big thing is also the end of contraction of the Albertan economy, replaced by growth.

Funded by borrowed money and higher taxes. Short term gain for long term pain.
Trudeau in fact lowered the personal taxes for the taxpayers earning less than $200,000 per annum. The elitists earning above $200,000 will be paying higher taxes. But these elitists normally figure out ways of reducing their taxes and know how to manipulate the system.

You can thank Prime Minister Harper for the current economy. Sadly, we will have to clean up the mess when junior leaves.

Of course you don't want to attribute the spectacular growth in the US economy to Obama. You're a knee-jerk frothing at the mouth ideologue whose opinions have no relationship whatsoever to reality.

But you've been hoist by your own petard here -- you correctly pointed out that economic results trail government policy by several years. The implication is clear, whether or not you like it.

I think the US has a bigger influence on the Canadian economy. Harper doubled down on oil, which turned out to be a total fuck-up. But the Canadian economy generally follows the US economy, and so we're doing well, because the US has had eight years of growth.
