Jon Jones Tests Positive for Steroids

Jon Jones has tested positive for steroids in his UFC 214 victory over Daniel Cormier, and he has been stripped of his title ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Our sources tell us ... Jones tested positive for Turinabol -- an anabolic steroid. Jones won the July 29 fight taking the UFC light heavyweight belt from Cormier with a savage head kick followed by a barrage of punishing punches to Cormier's head.

The title now goes back to Cormier.

It's the second time Jones has failed a USADA drug test. He tested positive for banned substances in 2016 before UFC 200 and was pulled from the main event. Jones got socked with a 1 year ban. We're told this time around, he could be banned for up to 4 years.

Jones had blamed his previous failed test on a male enhancement pill. He claimed he didn't realize the pill contained a banned substance and insisted he was NOT trying to gain a competitive edge.

If the test results hold up, it's unclear how he'll explain his way out of this one

Funny thing is he passed all the prior testing and this one test proved positive. His camp maintains that they were extra careful making sure that everything was legit so that this wouldn't happen. There is still the B sample that needs to get tested.

All I can do is shake my head.

If it is true, and proven, then he should never fight again.
He will be banned for 4 years, after that who knows what type of man he will be, reports now say that he is devastated by what's happened... given the history of drug use and leaving the scene of a crime ... I was hoping that he was a changed man.

He was going to fight Miocic in Detroit.

He'll be 34 when he's allowed to return, I think the 4-year ring rust (or octagon rust) might just end his career.

But we shall see

The B sample tested positive.

Jon Jones’ drug-test failure has been officially confirmed.

The ‘B’ sample taken from Jones in an in-competition collection July 28 in relation to UFC 214 came back positive Tuesday for Turinabol, the steroid Jones tested positive for in the ‘A’ sample, MMA Fighting confirmed with UFC vice president of athlete health and performance Jeff Novitzky.

Looks like a lifetime ban is next.

I concur ... i think it's a 4 year ban minimum but they may come down hard on him being a repeat offender and such.

Too lazy to google it, but I think his next positive (of anything, not just PED's) is a lifetime ban, is it not??

Yeah, but the other side of the argument is he wouldnt have gotten as far as he is in MMA world if he hadnt juiced.

If he had never juiced, he might just be another Phil Davis which few mainstream people wouldve heard of. So in a sense he's ahead of the game, even though right now he's behind the game. Does all that make sense?? (I've been drinking tonight).....LOL.

My point is he would probably be an average fighter if it wasnt for the steroids, and probably never wouldve gotten his multi-million dollar Nike deal

I know this one is 4 years according to the articles I've read, depends on usada and the commission when he goes for the hearings, plus depends on if he does anything stupid between then. After the 4 years, it will depend on if they make changes to the penalties for infractions and if he comes up positive in a random test while on probation, needless to say by then his career will be over.

Like you said he is like a Phil Davis, now with Bellator, but his brain is making all the wrong choices.

Have fun with this

Most of the fighters are on something. What he took was turinabol which is an oral steroid that does not stay in your system very long, it's not even the best choice. It's also not detectable in USADA's blood test which is what Jones passed initially.
He seems to be a sociopath.

Trust me bro, I been around gyms all my life. I know that.
Almost all of pro sports is juiced (especially the NFL).

But some guys react much better to steroids than other guys. In gyms they call them "reactors".
So if you take 2 guys who are both juicing, and one of them has a much better strength reaction then the other, it then becomes unfair competition.

A good example is bodybuilding. If every regular gym juicehead reacted the same way to steroids as Jay cutler, they would all be Mr. Olympian contenders. And yet they're not

I cannot tell, so I'm asking the experts.

Was Anderson Silva already out on his feet or did he take the schlepping too far and got knocked out?

This was the first match between Anderson the spider Silva and Chris Weidman, the Spider is known for showboating but this time he was just too slow... the final left really knocked him out and he took some more punishment on the ground... in the rematch the Spider broke his leg, he was never the same again but will always be considered one of the best pound for pound fighters in the UFC.

Jones seemed to be ignorant to how these things work. Looks as though he just t-bol without cycling on and off. The ironic part is that he's so skilled that he doesn't need to take that shit.

I think most of The Asian fighters don't juice, which explains why they suck in The UFC.
