Nope. My job doesn't allow for it. What I miss is growing one for a few months during the cold est winter months.

But if you look in the financial district it's all clean shaven.

I usually don't buy into the trends, so I'm still clean-shaven.
Have grown it out a few times, but I inevitably get tired of it and take it off.

Hipsters...
Exactly.

Went to a restaurant on Dundas west recently. Just walking down the street with a couple of female friends and randomly picked this place. Had never heard of it, had no preconceived notion. Anyway, we walk in and it had a certain vibe and was heavily focussed on wine and alcohol. I looked around and I said to my friends, "I'm the only guy in here without a beard". (And one of the older ones too - being firmly Generation X.)

Whenever I see these young men with beards, I always think of this........

Then again, it's hard to imagine Dougal Mackenzie clean shaven.....

Though maybe it's the beret. Got to get me a beret like this.

Maybe it's a coping mechanism. One of the ways a man can express his manliness today without offense is to grow out his facial hair. It's better than the shaven metrosexual fad of years ago, so young men have my blessings.

I don't grow one because it doesn't grow in as thick as I'd want and what does grow feels terrible on my skin. It also makes eating food a dirty busines (i.e. food constantly getting caught in the hair around the mouth).

But I do keep stubble on at all times.

Why cultivate something on your face that grows wild on the crack of your ass?

Judging by the prices and attitude at these hipster barber shops, I sure as hell hope they do.

I shave every day, though I usually just let it grow if I don't have any plans on the weekend.

I tried growing a beard but it itched too much.

Yes, my Barber trims it, NO he does not charge more.

Then again my facial hair grows faster than that on my head anymore.
