In terms of gender suspicion, they can't speak up, it's against the law.....
The various attempts by the IAAF at regulating womens events have been an abysmal failure (and I'm not talking about men pretending to be women). Their attempt to define gender by testosterone levels was farcical. A guy has abnormally high testosterone and he's champion. A woman with high natural testosterone is considered a cheat. Sort of sets a double standard there unless we see a maximum level instituted for men as well. "Back in my day" we accepted the fact that some people were naturally gifted athletes and moved on. Now we deal with less gifted athletes complaining about how unfair it is.
Of course doping is a whole other issue (and from conversations I've had with track people, it is still rampant).
On the actual topic, shame to see Bolt end this way but that's life. Very few athletes can identify when to go out on top.
