Nathan's Coney Island

Just a couple of hours ago, 33 year old Joey Chestnut, IFOCE champion, set a world record by eating 72 Nathan's hot dogs in ten, yes ten minutes. That's 20,160 calories and 1,296 grams of fat. It was a great achievement as Chestnut won his record-breaking 10th Nathan's Coney Island championship.

Further to this event, five people were arrested for attempting to disrupt the contest. These were animal activists trying to interrupt Joey's Chestnut's quest for a tenth win. One included an extremely fat woman. I didn't know that vegans ever got fat. Anyway, the cops arrested them and they will be charged accordingly.

However, unassuming, I don't recall Cournoyer on 10 Stanley Cup teams. I followed him when I was younger. I could only recall eight Stanley Cup wins, although he was on the 78-79 team but had a serious back injury during the playoffs and did not play.

Although Cournoyer was on the roster of ten Stanley Cup teams, he actually did not play in 1978 due to injury and in 1979 where he underwent surgery in December, 1978, which was became a career-ending event. In sentimental deference to him, management deigned to include him on the Cup although he did not play.
