According to Angus Reid, Mainstreet Research and Forum Research, Kathleen Wynne remains hugely unpopular and her Ontario Liberal Party isn't faring much better.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. So far, it looks like attempts to turn things around by bribing voters with their own money isn't working.

I suppose that could change. The hydro relief scheme doesn't kick in until July 1. And it's possible the minimum wage hike that kicks in next January will impress some voters.

Still, it's difficult to imagine Wynne finding a path back to victory by June of next year.

She doesn't have to find it. I have faith the Conservatives ability to find it for her. The Liberals did not win the last two elections - the Conservatives lost them.

Frightening but true.

Combined with her vote buying measures she still has a shot. If she wins the next election, I will applaud her for it. Unfortunately, it will confirm my belief that most people are incredibly stupid

I wouldn't necessarily disagree, but the bigger issue is the NDP, which forced an election last time out and then lost the "progressive" votes to the Liberals.

Wynne seems convinced she can capture that vote again with things like the minimum wage hike.

That and the Hydro bill - she is baiting a trap for the conservatives. She hoping they will admit that they will reverse or add most charges to the taxpayer's bill. They should campaign on stopping Wynn's pattern of reckless spending that inevitably adds to higher taxes. This could be a cakewalk against Wynn as long as the voters are not faced with yet more taxes. I hate Wynn but I'm not about to see more of my money disappear into a government void.

you have to consider how many votes she loses for being a woman and a lesbian. I am still b
voting for her as the other two, Brown and Howath are hugely unimpressive

Well that is the wonderful thing Wynne has accomplished... people detest her as she has proven to be stupid, corrupt, and only concerned with holding office, even if she will destroy the province in the process. Witness her genius hydro plans as evidence. Her sex and sexuality are irrelevant at this point.

I am glad you are voting for her though. It is a good reminder that people can and will fall for *anything*. Bonus points for attempting to make her a victim of discrimination, versus a victim of her own horrible leadership.

The hydro plans etc are a screwup, granted, but Harris also started the ball rolling in a big way. She has done some good things, and the city I live in (Toronto) has really done quite well under Liberal leadership. Conservatives tend to direct their attention to rural areas, where there support resides. That is not good for Toronto. Brown has said NOTHING about what he will do..Horwath is an idiot that called the last election prematurely. Any politician will do what it takes to stay in power, that is what democracy is.

I was not a huge fan of Wynne, and I certainly did not want another Liberal government at Queens Park. But I did celebrate her becoming the first female Premier in Ontario, and the first openly gay premier in Canada.
These were fantastic accomplishments, and I hoped that she would be a great premier despite of her party.

I don't agree that she is stupid, or corrupt, but I don't think she has done a good job as premier.

If the two only options for the elections were:
a) Kathleen Wynne, of the Liberal Party
b) Caliph Abū Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of ISIS

I would vote for the fucking terrorist

Well that is completely rational. So if she wins you will move to Syria then?
