Free speech has it's limits. While I feel it is wrong I never said those people should be forced to take it down.
Free speech does have its limits but supporting a group (or even membership in a group) is not itself a crime

A person has every right to shave his head and walk around with a swastika emblem
No matter how offended a jew might get

So how does a white person not have a right to display a southern symbol on their car?
(And the black woman was ignorant anyhow since the civil war was about far more than slave rights anyways despite what some liberals may parrot these days)
The Emancipation Declaration was AFTER the war had already started (and seems like an obvious punishment to the southern states for succession)

Would it? I mean... would it really?

Or would it just be a completely meaningless piece of fucking fabric to them?

Seriously, I'm asking you point blank, which is more likely. A) That children seeing this piece of fabric (with likely zero idea behind the history) would, and I quote, have their minds "poisoned by the hate it represents", or B) fucking nothing.

Please, I beg you, really think real good and hard about that one, and then answer truthfully.

The only thing poisoning their mind is witnessing morons get worked up about something that doesn't matter.
Don't expect a response,... to your logical,...non racist take on the subject.

Allowing kids to see that flag but not the protests against it would poison their minds with the hate it represents.
You do realize nearly every one of those white kids (and probably most of the black kids) spent days masterbating over that flag?

I wonder how that stupid woman would feel when she thinks about that (it becomes even funnier when you listen to lyrics about walking all over you, I am sure the woman will blow a gasket and say its racist southern whites walking on black lol)

There are many images today that are offensive.

I find the sight of a women completely covered in black cloth that appears to be a tent, with only a slit for her eyes,... extremely offensive,...as for the oppression it stands for.
So do I.

Sure.... ignore the slew of current moral and fiscal points he makes with the mention of a few "Virginians"...LOL
A childish rant from an anonymous writer sourced from a website called "fuckthesouth.com". Impressive find

This woman needs to get a life and stop projecting her racist attitudes onto people who are not racist. Just for that I'd air brush the flag on both sides on my car doors and ride around every Sunday just to trigger these racist losers!

Hey there fuji. Noticed you missed my reply to your post earlier, probably an honest mistake. Would still love to hear your answer to this, will even quote it down below. Cheers.

Not everyone shares your opinion, and why do you think your view on everything is always right and anyone who has an opposing view is wrong. You must be the worlds only perfect person.

No, it would teach children (assuming they have parents that like to teach kids history, tolerance and respect for other races or cultures) that certain people who were historically discriminated against, find that flag offensive, even though it may not be offensive to you or me.

It seems to me that you call her a moron because you have absolutely no empathy or appreciation of someone else's views or perspective.

I agree that it doesn't mean that a person is necessarily racist, however, the owner of that car sounded like one when he tried to defend General Lee's beliefs about slavery or segregation.

However, one can be perceived as a racist if you publicly display that flag, so in these modern times, you must be careful.

If you can honestly state that you believe that over 5% of North American children under the age of 13 would be able to speak intelligently about the history behind the flag, I would concede to your point.

And to your last point, you are certainly correct. I have absolutely no empathy for her perspective, because the way that she expressed it was absolutely appalling. And because her views are wrong.

It would make them think displaying racist symbols was considered normal. I'm a big believer I'm free speech, I don't want to ban you from flying a racist flag, but I expect you to respect my free speech right to heckle you if you do.

As I said before, they wouldn't know it was a racist symbol had the woman not heckled. Your insistence on bringing to light stupid issues has created a paradox whereby you are actually exposing children to your stupid ideas that they otherwise would not have known could be interpretted by stupid people as a big deal.

Or, to put it less delicately, you're starting shit for no reason and complaining that the shit was started. Paradox.

Good for her then! It's important for children to be educated about these sorts of racist cancers. She did well. In fact, thanks to her actions here you are being educated about it as well.

It's possible that the owner of the car simply never was confronted with how racist it is and didn't know, but far, far more likely that he knows exactly what it means.

We do not live in a society free of racism, and it needs to be vigilantly and vigorously confronted.
