Word may be getting around that he is great for the group picture but when it's time to talk......
Justin, of all people, should be aware of appearances. To be fair to him, President Trump occupies a very large space and Canada is but a bit player on the international scene. The meeting was all about Trump and, maybe, Angela. Besides, Justin had nothing to contribute. Angering America over climate is not worth jeopardizing the future NAFTA talks.
I think people over play the bit player thing, Canada is small compared to the US, not to most other Countries, Canada is a G8 country with 36,000,000 people and international connections and allies across the global and do business with countless communities, if we compare ourselves internationally instead of to the Americans, one sees we are much more then bit players.
I suppose that you'd prefer a leader who pushes other leaders out of the way to be in the middle of a photo op?

Trump practically has his back to both Trudeau and May. Both of them have already met up with Trump in the USA. Trump is talking in American English, and it probably is not easy for those leaders whose first language is not English to understand what he is trying to say. Both May and Trudeau seem like they are distancing themselves from the sweet nothing that comes out of Trump's mouth.

Whereas Trump is both nonsensical as a speaker and an unbearable goof in the picture preamble. In the shot shown , Trump is doing all the talking, so who can blame JT for wanting to ignore the Orange asshole's braggadocious babbling?
