Why Is the Media Branding the Portland Train Stabber a Trump Supporter? He’s Not

When Jeremy Joseph Christian was accused of fatally stabbing two people in a hate crime against Muslims in Portland on Friday, the media quickly branded him an alt right Trump supporter.

When Jeremy Joseph Christian was accused of fatally stabbing two people in a hate crime against Muslims in Portland on Friday, the media quickly branded him an alt right Trump supporter.

But the reality is far stranger.

Christian is accused of stabbing three men, two fatally, on a train in Portland on Friday after they tried to stop him from shouting anti-Muslim hate speech at two young women.

Local reports of the 35-year-old suspect describe him as a “known white supremacist.” The Portland Mercury and Portland-based Willamette Week published pictures of Christian attending the right-wing March for Free Speech on April 29 to push the narrative that he was a Trump supporter. Some twitter users, like the liberal conspiracy theorist @RVAWonk, even forwarded a theory that Jeremy Christian was “radicalized” by the alt-right.

Writing for Willamette Week, Corey Pein said he interviewed Christian during the march, and the alleged killer chanted the n-word and threw Nazi salutes. Pein writes that amid Christian’s rants about Jews on Facebook, he expressed support for Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein for president. The Willamette Week writer describes that as a “distraction” others will seize upon as they contradict the narrative of Christian as a real white supremacist.

While Pein says the organizers of the march “disavowed association” with Christian following the murders, it’s worth noting that they did a lot more than that: The marchers kicked him out of the march last month. Video footage shows a mixed-race group of marchers calling on police to remove him.

Don't you just love the SJW crowd. Dismissive as always. Never listens. And as his handle denotes young, idealistic, naive. He actually thinks his generation has all these new great ideas! That no one else in the history of the world ever thought of.

News for you.....look up the 60's. All those idealistic people promising a new world. The baby boomers with the huge population. And now the very same demographic who voted for Trump.

There is no change a coming my friend. Economics rule. And as people get older, have kids, mortgages and responsibilities their priorities change. The hippies turned into the yuppies. And so to will most of your generation as well. With a few left behind to rail against the "injustice" of it all.

As for different people I throw regular social gatherings and all are welcome into my house. And every race, color and creed show up for my cooking fun times. And know my politics. But they are also mature enough to have a civilized discourse without silly grade 4 name calling(Turd? Seriously who uses that but a little kid?). And enjoy it.

As for fascist I think not. I don't state people can't have an opinion, unlike the college campuses these days. Far from it. I am someone who believes in the power of the individual over the collective. Don't agree with large gov't. Especially on social issues. Am happy to see things like gay marriage legalized for my friends(who's weddings I happily attended). Happy to see Marijuana legalized. Happy for people to live their own lives.

And will fight when anyone thinks that enforced accommodation for life choices by others should be placed upon others. It's up to individuals to suffer for their own moral choices, not make me work within them so as not to offend.

Libertarians on social issues can't be fascists. Only those who seek to impose views can be. As liberals are fond of doing secure in their own moral rectitude.

Now when you want to come back, write something in your own words, with actual thought and meaning behind that express a point of view legitimately then perhaps you will find respect. But right now you are the teen screaming things because you just don't understand the world yet. So I suppose we just have to tolerate the tantrums until you do.

So I will say now again he is obviously mentally disturbed and needs to be locked away, tried and convicted, and preferably sent somewhere to be permanently straighjacketed with a couple of needles for breakfast.

I in no way condone his actions.

But I will also say they were those ready to jump to the conclusion he is a sane lucid example of a Trump supporter and not acknowledge the two victims as hero's either

Again there was no proof that he attended any Bernie Sanders rallies. He was not a member of the Democratic Party, so how could he have voted for Sanders? Did Sanders run against Trump? Such Stupidity?

He praised Timothy McVeigh for the Oklahoma bombings. He clearly attended the so called alt right "free speech" rally on April 29th on 82nd Avenue in Montavilla, Oregon and posted that on his facebook page that he was a "Lizard King" at that event. What else do the alt right need to show that he was not an alt right racist and anti-Muslim zealot. Can the alt right state exactly at what Bernie Sanders location was he at? What exact principles make him align with Sanders, whereas his attacks on Muslims and immigrants are racist in nature and is similar to Trump rally speeches. What a load of alt right nutcases., who continue to live in denial.
