However, what needs to be kept in mind is that just under 73 percent of the population of Norway identify as members of the Norwegian Lutheran Church/Church of Norway, and just under 80 percent of the population as Christian. Jews are under .01 percent of the population and Muslims are just under 3 percent of the population. Hence I believe the statistics speak for themselves as to how Norwegians view this.
Sure, and cut males also swim faster. Swimming faster is a huge advantage when chased by a shark and/or alligator. LOL!
I agree that circumcision should only be done on infants if there is a proven medical need. Otherwise there is no reason to subject the child to an unnecessary surgery, with all the risks that even minor surgery entails. If a man wants to do it for cosmetic reasons when he is old enough to make that choice on his own then he is free to do that.
Let's agree that's true. However, unless medically necessary, what would be the problem with waiting until the kid is 16? At that age, the teen would at least have some input into what happens to his genitals.
It is still routine in North America, further given that it is a core part of religious belief, unless you are going to say religious freedom is great except for people like you. . .
This is no different than indoctrinating the young in religion,...wait to until the guy is old enough to makes his own incision decision.

I'm consistent in my condemnation of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Practice whatever you want so long as it does not infringe on the rights of others... certainly with regard to undue physical harm. Just as I oppose Muslims practicing the beating of women and forcing women to wear head scarfs, I find the notion of genital mutilation for the sake of tradition or religious belief repulsive.
I can see no valid reason why circumcision cannot be postponed until the individual has reached an age at which he has the chance to weigh the pros and cons of the operation. If he believes there are medical benefits, then he can proceed accordingly.
I'm glad i had the procedure done at 8 days. I have never had any memory of it. Moreover that is considered scientifically the ideal time to have it done. Interestingly, the Bible says to do it exactly then.
