Seems odd. Just a few days earlier he was acquitted of a double murder. Not that if he was convicted it would change his situation much.

It's hard to feel sympathy for the man. He had it all; unreal athlete , signed a big contract playing for one of football's best teams and was just starting a family.

But he squandered it all away because he felt that he needed to be a gangster. Too bad really. What a waste.

So sad. Nevertheless my sympathy goes to his victims not him.

The man had all the money and (probably free) pussy any normal man would want. Why?

I was a big fan. Was really holding hope he was innocent and would redeem himself. The evidence for the Odin murder was pretty damning. Wonder if he took his life as a result of the shame he was feeling to let his loved ones down.

Here is an interesting tidbit to consider. Since Hernandez cannot assist with his appeal, the law says the conviction should be vacated according to current Massachusetts law. Consequently, on his record it will show that we was charged with Odin's murder but not convicted. The law is the same in several states in the US as well as the federal level.

So though the 4 year old daughter of his may grow up one day to find out her daddy was alleged to have killed someone no one can ever technically refer to him as a murderer since there is no record of a conviction. Based on the body of evidence it is obvious that Hernandez's legal team had no chance of overturning the verdict on appeal. It was literally a stab in the dark. The suicide in his mind may have been the last opportunity to salvage some of the irreparable damage to his reputation, spare his family any further pain from this unrelenting disappointment, and put an end to the legal expenses which essentially jeopardized his family's well-being financially.

Same with suicide bombers. No legal conviction for murder.

I read an article where he had no family members at his trial, only his fiance. They had all abandoned him. What did he have to live for, no reason for any lifer to live really, what is the point.

It takes a certain mentality to play professional football.

Hernandez couldn't leave that mentality on the gridiron. Football players lives aren't sweet after the career ends, look at Mike Webster and it's not beyond the realm of possibility that Ray Lewis has blood on his hands as well.

Aaron's father with whom he admired and was very close to passed when Aaron was only 16. Maybe that adversely affected his life.

Huge NFL fan here. Hernandez was a total piece of shit. Think about it. He died at 27 so when he went to prison he was 24. Just imagine the life this piece of shit could have had if he didn't get so worked about something so trivial as a dude spilling a drink on him

Gronk seems like a dumb guy but he's a genius compared to Hernandez

Also my man Adam Gase and my Phins are comin
