I was watching on my box last night with no issues. And all last week on may laptop the same.

What Add on were you using? Sometimes if you either manually update those or even delete and re install them that can help.

Also sometimes I just unplug the power on the box and then replug it in. It will auto update then.

Those are things you should try first.

Yes. Go to system and you should be able to tell it to somewhere. Mine is set to do it automatically.

Youtube and other sites will have detailed instructions if you search.

Kodi is amazing!

Installed Kodi 17.1 with no issues on Linux via Terminal. It does quite a bit and is loaded with many options. Played with it a bit figuring out what it does. YouTube has many helpful videos with instruction for setting it up.

I did install Kodi 17.1. But the Skin defaulted to the XBMC one. It was a nightmare to use it as most apps did not work. Eventually had to switch to the Confluence Skin and have not experienced any further buffering. The quality of the picture is now almost HDMI 720. A big improvement from the previous version.

Well enjoy Kodi while you can. Rumors are floating around the Gov is going to seize it and shut it down in a month or two. Hope it's just a rumor.

Are there any good websites on how to reprogram a kodi box? I bought a M8S and it worked for a while but lately I find myself aimlessly trying different apps and all leading to dead ends. Even when it was working I would pick a movie and it might have issues. like sound not being synchronized.

anywhere i want;)
I have been using kodi for months and never had any issues. Works great with movies and tv shows and I haven't upgraded it since I got it. I am not sure about the government seizing it and shutting it down though. Its just streaming sites , It is like going on google and typing in " watch fast and furious 7 free" and trying every single link until one works...

I googled the topic and here is the link that came up http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/free-tv-loaded-android-box-cable-1.3633331

In the article it says " the free tv box is like an ipad, apple tvs, or computers ; it can be used for legal and illegal purposes."

I guess we will just have to see what happens.

Some Kodi "addons" have announced that most streaming sites are switching to HTTPS, and older versions of Kodi do not support HTTPS.
So you need to upgrade Kodi..which could mean a hardware upgrade if using older android based boxes.

It is important to upgrade the version of Kodi that you have to the 17.1 version. You can also start by switching to the factory version and then following instructions on Youtube by reloading XBMC, Fusion etc.
