Young students were unable to use their schools computer lab because muslim students were given priority of their prayer time over PUBLIC school education.
I can sympathize with the angry parents who send their children to school to get an education not stand outside the computer room waiting for mosque time to finish up.

anywhere i want;)
This is what I was saying in the other thread.... students are getting offended and parents are outraged.

She says herself in the video " other students are feeling discrimated against".
The fact that a student went to another student and said " god doesn't love you, he only loves muslims " is outrageous!

I agree with her.. Canadians are turning a blind eye to Canadian values.

Unable to use the lab for prayer!! Surely that isn't what you meant to say.

The video is equally poor at presenting its case. But at least I can read your post in a second, video wastes time by the bucket.

There should be no prayer rooms in any school, do it on your own time.

Why is the video a waste of time?

When religion takes priority over computer class in a public, supposedly none denominational school,...something s definatly wrong here.

I though we were told there is plenty of rooms available for prayer, and the praying was being done on "their own time",...

Come on people, anybody wonders why people are getting emotional about one specific religion,....prayer in school having priority over classes, Christmas being being outlawed because it might offend a minority, a government bill that is specific to one religion...this is NOT complicated.

What she has to say needs no more that twenty or thirty seconds, and would be better said in writing.

That makes three minutes of wasted time.

Speaking of 'better said' you really should fix your first sentence so it says what you meant.

We won't make anything better if we don't make sense first.

Is this just another version of the last outraged Christian posting (Koran ripping) ? Does multiple threads on the same event give some kind of illusion of a groundswell of Christian outrage ?

Call it a wild hunch but could it be that an empty classroom was designated for Muslim studies for a period (my revolving class times were referred to as periods). It could have been Muslim studies, or a history class but students cannot wander into an occupied classroom just to do other work even if it was the Chem lab, language lab, etc. You waited outside until the start of the next period.

I could be wrong but I find it more likely the school was designating a vacant class which they have every right to do rather than an isolated ISIS group conducted a hostile take over.

What's interesting is you have the East Indian Community butting heads over this. The Hindu, Christian, and other populations in Oakville, Mississauga and Brampton are running up against the Muslim populations. And it's in the schools that the Sharia Creep is commencing.

I don't think they will back down either.

I think the lab is actually a study area where students can access computers for study purposes.

And is was shut down for prayers apparently for over half an hour. As this is probably the only lab essentially school work time was shut down to accommodate the performance of religious activities.

And that has no place in school.

Even if the school has empty classrooms there should not be any kind of religious prayers, preaching or other practices on public school property. Parents send their children to public schools nearly 40 hours a week to keep them away from any religious influence.

No Lord's Prayer, no XXIII Psalm, no Easter, no Christmas, no prayers on Nov 11, and if O Canada is to be sung, only the godless old lyrics are permissible. No religion means no religion at all. And no reason to close the schools for Good Friday or Christmas Day.

Then someone will look at Ontario's Constitutionally required Catholic schools and demand equal curriculum time, and places for the objets they venerate, 'cause Catholics have them, whole buildings of them. Way more of them than a weekly half-hour in a computer-lab for sure. And that's because 150 years ago we Canucks decided it was wiser and better to get along tolerantly and respectfully than to spend any more centuries burning each other as heretics, infidels and apostates, (never mind as papists or prods like the Irish). So we bought into and continued the toleration-model the Brits tried out a hundred years earlier, when they gave Quebec's Catholics more freedom and acceptance than their own at home.

It would be wiser and better to do a bit more asking instead of demanding and a bit more tolerating and understanding. That way the prayers can be moved to a room less in demand for its special purpose and we can have fewer idiots pretending to be TV journos.

It's a half-hour scheduling conflict in one room, not a Holy War.

BTW: to disclose: I myself am a heathen, so pronounced by the Vatican which had to sanction my wedding to a Catholic (who wasn't of the Roman sort). My Baptist missionary Grandparents sent congrats. God's joinery fell asunder. The same God has statistically better results operating under both his Jewish and Muslim brands.

That is truly disgusting, what kind of a country has Canada become? It's shameful and wrong. Keep oppressive, discriminatory religions out of our public schools.

Is the national anthem still played every morning at school or has that been wiped out too? Can't see any true Canadian regardless of race/religion ever having a problem with our beloved Country's song. Matter of fact you need to know the National Anthem when you become a citizen.
