Personally, I have told my family doctor what I do.
I'm extremely open with her and I dont hide anything.
Ive heard of some SPs not even telling their family doctors or seeing a doctor about regular check ups and blood work.
That's just mind blowing to me. As a client, would you feel more comfortable seeing an SP who has regular blood work done?

I think its seriously important SP or client. Put yourself first and always get tested!!!
Even if you feel annoying to your doctor.. GO!
Every 3 months I'm there. Safety and check ups is number 1 in my books.
I would totally feel more comfortable seeing my regulars and clients knowing they keep up with their check ups.
Just my honest opinion! xoxo

That's great Kadie - very responsible of you!

This is a question for you and all the ladies here: is it polite to ask an SP about the last time they were tested for STIs? Is it possible for them to provide proof?

I think most sex workers should get checked every 2 weeks. My reasoning is let's say a sex provider averages 3 different partners a day and works 5 days a week. After 2 weeks that would be 30 guys. If you wait 3 months you may have slept with 180 different guys. You could spread STDs very easily, unknowingly.

I get checked monthly but only average 3-4 different people a month just to put things into perspective.

I wouldn't say its polite nor disrespectful however it is an awkward question especially if that's one of your first questions. You should always ask after you have asked about rates/services. Personally if a clients asks that I feel the sp reserves the right to ask the client the same thing.

As for getting checked every two weeks most family doctors will tell you its better to check every 3-6 months because usually when you first get an sti/std or infection sometimes it can take time for your body to actually show the symptoms. Early on can cause misdiagnosis. Its better to always go every 3 months like kadie said, or every 6 months.

Thanks for the answer, sweetiepieexo. I wouldn't be insulted in the slightest if an SP asked how long ago I was tested. It's in her best interests to know. I should hope it's something an SP is comfortable talking about.

your welcome ! if she isn't comfortable then you aren't seeing the right girls my friend! an sp should always be comfortable discussing her health if not that should set off red flags immediately.

For girls from Montreal there an organism for SW that provides free std clinics and they give out condoms and lube as well. They don't require an ID if you wish to remain anonymous but the nurse guaranteed that it wouldn't show in my medical record that I'm an escort.

Calgary have a very similar clinic for sex worker called Shift.

They recommend doing the test every 3 months.

I'm pretty sure that every big city have something similar!

Stay safe! ;)

agreed on every 3 months or more. In Oz in the legal brothels its monthly (gov't test), and in Singapore I believe the legal brothels its every 2 weeks. If you're a professional though you need to act like one, and many of these ladies are very responsible, at least those for whom I've had the honour of spending some quality time with. I myself go every 3 months, since I started this, and do the full thing - urine (gonorrhea and chlamydia) and blood (hepatitis a, b, c, hiv, herpes II, syphilis).

I do and so do the providers I frequent. Never asked to see their results and never been asked to show mine. Cuz it's in both our interest I believe them to be honourable.

Doctors would decline someone who wanted to get tested that frequently. Trust us, we know.

Can you guys stop assuming we all work 5 days a week and see 3 different guys a day. Youall have screw up version of this industry and how "busy" we are.

With all respect to Malika (Hi by the way), not "all" sp's come close to that example, BUT some sp's will average much higher per day, say over a 10 to 15 day schedule. Again if that is a concern, not hard to figure out sp's that see a lower average. I know this to be true, so don't shit on me :).

You misunderstand my sarcasm directed at HOLLYWOODG. He's the ASS, not I. Although sometimes I have been accused of being one and prolly was. Haven't we all tho.

I think if I made that kind of coin, I would! :bounce: Don't I wish it were that simple! LOL!

You're assuming a constant income, similar to a salary base. The business is nothing like that. It ebbs and flows, and like any industry, there are fluctuations in demand.
AMEN lady! You said it.
Never ever a promised or steady income.
One day could be nothin and some days can be great.
This "job" is never ever a steady and promised income.
I mean unless one is charging super super low rates then maybe.
And again, you get what you pay for always!

I wish this industry always had a promised certain daily pay check.
But it's very unpredictable and we never ever know what the day can bring.
Just have to be positive and ready! :)

Every 2 weeks?! My doctor wouldn't agree. Lol
They say minimum every 2-3 months is the normal.
I've had friends in this industry say that their doctor doesn't even agree 2-3 month check up.
Crazy!!! Just depends how open and honest an SP is with their doctor I suppose.
Mine has no problem and does it whenever I ask. Thankfully.
But trust me, there are some stubborn doctors out there.

And in my situation, I don't work everyday and sometimes off a week or so at a time.
Also depends on the SPs services etc. Condom or no condom bj, doesn't matter.. tests still need to happen. But this is for hobbyists and SPs. Some hobbyists hobby up to 3-6 times a week.
If each of those dates are with a new partner, one should especially get checked.

Think it just comes down to a persons personal routine with their dr etc.
Better to be safe then sorry! Every 2-3 months is perfect IMO.
Every 2 weeks would be nuts lol. SPs are as human as anyone else.
Depending on the SP and her services maybe every 2 weeks I guess lol.
Really depends.

Porn stars in the LA area used to get tested every 30 days, but they've changed to every 14 days now. Of course it's not a good comparison, because most don't use condoms, and the whole industry can call a moratorium if anyone has a positive HIV test.
