Apparent Terrorist attack on the British Houses of Parliament

A SUV has struck at least ten people on Westminster Bridge, an "Asian Man" in his 40's then jumped out carrying a 7" - 8" knife and ran into the Palace of Westminster where he stabbed a police constable and at least three other people. He has been shot by armed police.

The P.M. has been evacuated to a Safe House.

I think the title of this thread may possibly be misleading.

The police are treating this as a terrorist incident (until they know otherwise) but really have no information if that is actually the case. It is not "apparent" one way or another, at this time.

Well, I haven't claimed that it is, however it certainly looks like one. You run over ten people on the sidewalk crash into a fence run into the Palace of Westminster with a knife with a 8" blade and stab four people including a Police Constable. Yes, it may turn out to just be a crazy but . . . .

Update

It is now being reported that 20 people were injured and one woman killed on Westminster Bridge and in total four have died including the woman on the bridge, a Police Constable and the terrorist.

I can't see how a rampaging driver counts as a 'terrorist' in any political sense, no matter what his motives. Surely the essential of such an act is that the entire body politic is seized by terror of the harm that's intended for it. This guy's acts fall well within ordinary daily traffic 'accidents' and what we used to call 'going postal', back in less pre-terrified times.

Until someone uncovers evidence of a politically-based Death Driver School, I'd say folks should get a grip and think again about how to make a better society. What they most certainly should not do is be terrified, or even afraid in any way that further empowers the forces of repression who have all too much poorly managed power already.

From what I'm gathering the British Security Services responded very quickly. This could have easily gone French with the casualty list much higher.

The "driver" having driven all the way across the bridge then crashed the SUV into a fence at the Palace of Westminster, got out, went into the Palace grounds and then repeatedly stabbed two people one of whom a Police Constable has died as a result of his wounds.

Yup merely bad driving.

You can see the face of the attacker dying on a stretcher here after being shot by police. You have to ask at what point do the left become responisble for the murder, terror, and rape happening across Europe. They relentlessly defend them, for what? To increase their voter base? In the view of many, they already have blood on their hands.

No, but certainly pretty amateurish terror tactics. And nothing useful will come from our excitement over it three thousand miles across the Atlantic.

Calm, and an effort to keep things in proportion are always helpful. All the brouhaha over this stuff is exactly what any real terrorist wants.
