When Red Green talks about getting a prostate exam he says: "you're never too old to be smart".

If you have the surgery forget about using your prick as a sex device. That's why, every 1.5 years - I grin and bear it.

That is not correct, but there are considerable risks with surgery. (the nerves running around this area are the best argument against a "intelligent designer")

I had elevated PSA numbers 8 years ago, and subsequently had a biopsy done (horrible) and there was abnormal/cancerous cells found. My doctor advised me that half of men over 50 would have what I have, and advised monitoring only.

He said that he could guarantee that I would not die from this, and furthermore likely would not need treatment. I went to the Mayo clinic and got a second opinion identical to his.

Since then my PSA numbers have been stable.

I've been saying that for years, not only the nerves, but the plumbing route through the center of the gland also,...not too intelligent.

I grin and bear it too (although I occasionally get a prostate massage from certain ladies and ensure I follow clean protocol - so I can tolerate it but still hate it from my male doc).

Every annual exam. Did it recently, but now must do the PSA blood test. At least my STD tests are all negative.

Can anyone recommend an MP or SP for a good prostate massage that is both medically helpful and sexually stimulating??

The male plumbing and procreating systems are intricately designed, that's for sure.

Having prostate surgery, even complete removal, doesn't necessarily mean the end of sexual activity.

Having a skilled surgeon is what matters, so do your research.

Research your surgeon even more thoroughly than you research your SP's.

You might get a better response if you post a 411 in the Massage Review forum, because a lot of reviewers don't read the Lounge. I have never provided prostate massage, but many SP's, MPA's and Dominatrix's are skillful at it.

It would be good if guys could post names of surgeons that come highly recommended for prostate surgery. I wish I could remember the ones clients have mentioned over the years. There's a huge range in quality of surgeons who perform these operations, so if you have to travel or spend a bit more, I'd go for it.

This article contains what some might call a "fun fact", namely that men who have 21 or more orgasms per month have 30% less prostate cancer than those who have 7 or fewer.
Now, that could get expensive!
Where's OHIP when you need it for preventative therapies?
Use it or lose it school of thought I guess.

(Normally, your PSA test is not covered by OHIP either).

I know a senior gent who had his prostrate removed. He says injections or Levitra helps him with an erection.

Yep. If you let your left arm hang limp at your side for a few months, then expected it to perform normally - it wouldn't. Same with your penis.

My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer 16 months ago, which was very devastating news, and it still saddens me whenever I think about it. His Gleason score is 9, which means it's very aggressive, and when he was initially diagnosed it already spread to his bones. He received treatment as part of a clinical trial, and he's doing well right now, so I'm trying to stay positive and hoping for the best.

Can anyone share encouraging stories about prostate cancer? It would be very helpful.
How old is was he when diagnosed?
