88% think we are taking the right number or the number is already too high.
52% think we are taking in too many or not enough.

ISIS is not a religion.
ISIS (aka DAESH) is in deep shit. They are just about tossed out of Iraq. Their stronghold in northern Syria is under constant attack. Turkey, Assad and Russia have now joined the attack.

Question: What will happen to the approximately 100-200 Canadians (including women) who are still with ISIS? Will they all perish on the battlefield?

Hey, didn't realize you were in the room. Welcome. I didn't do this poll, I just reported it.

Do you have any comments about the poll itself?

ISIS is not a religion. They have hijacked the Muslim faith and in reality are followers of Satan. Yes we should embrace the Yazidis with open arms, as well as the Shia Muslims, and Christians. So all the persecuted ones should be allowed to come to Canada.
Actually we should kill off all the extremists so they can continue to live in their homeland. Much better solution.

So 88% disagree with each other and have opposite opinions. How helpful you are to let us know.

Hmmmm. Aren't you just the sort of guy who would have voted 100 times in the poll just to skew the results, so you could show it proudly on TERB?!

So 58% think we are taking the right number or should increase it.
88% think we are taking the right number or the number is already too high.
Prime examples of how you can skew stats to favour your point of view. Which may have been SkyRider's point.

I agree with Skyrider; this poll leans more towards decreasing refugee intake than increasing it.

That said, the point of the poll was determine how many agree with the current stance. That value is 47%. Not 58%. Not 88%.

But a further 11% do want the numbers to be increased. One issue with polls (once you have examined the sampling methodology, which none of us has) is how you aggregate numerous separate responses into the two sides of Yea or Nay.. Dangerous indeed, as Sky proved by lumping the 'happy with current' numbers in with the 'should cut them' to prove 88% wanted … ? One of two opposite things.

As you say: 47% like the intake numbers. A smaller percentage do want them lowered, and there's a 1% for whom there's no opinion. Everyone else —11%— wants the numbers increased, not held or reduced. While it might be that some of the 47% would not tolerate an increase, no one can say how large a percentage, if any would feel that way.

But we most certainly can say that only 41% of Canadians think we should take in fewer. The other 58% are content or want even more.

A smaller percentage want them lowered? Um 41% want less. That means lower. Only 11% want more.

And 47% are good the way it is. That says to me that 88% of Canadians DO NOT want the numbers increased. You don't count the 47% who said they are good with the way it is as somehow wanting more. They clearly stated no more.

Pretty simple math. 88% say no increase in numbers.

100% want to move out of town to seek refuge when refugees move in....including the refugees....only they move out of their own country...Therefore refugees are more racist of their own kind than the west is...you are triggered.

41% is indeed a smaller percentage than the 47% who are content with the numbers, which is what I said.

Since almost half of the 88% you lumped together actually want fewer refugees, it's quite misleading say they merely don't want the numbers to grow, although perhapsnot inaccurate technically. But if I was one of that anti-refugee 41%, I'd say you deliberately misrepresented my views.

If you wanted to state the results as: Only 11% want more refugees, while 41% want fewer, I'd have no problem. But I'd suspect you were hiding that 47% who said they are happy with the status quo, and who outnumber both flavours of those who want change.

Not everything in life is Yea or Nay, for all that kind of dualism appeals to simple minds trying to decide complex issues.
