McGregor is a clown show. He should be focusing on how to improve his grappling skills for Khabib. His "hope" status will come to an end soon.
As of 2016 forbes list his net worth at 340mil.
He made over 200mil on his fight with pacquiao.
No fan of McGregor but I believe he's got a puncher's chance. Mayweather hasn't knocked anyone out in forever and I doubt he'll be able to get many clean shots in with the bigger gloves. Mac is much bigger the Floyd, and his left hand has been decribed as "the touch of death". McGregor's got a better chance in boxing than Mayweather does in MMA. It's basically a cash grab for BOTH of them, with the UFC crying because Mac wants to cut them out.
Conor has little chance against winner of Khabib and Ferguson as well, that's the fight to see!
But this Floyd fight is just a good business decision for both, floyd will easily cash 100M+ from McGregor's hype, and Conor will probably get 20+. Since he is under contract with UFC for 4 more fights, Dana and the UFC will definitely take a big portion of his cut.

Exactly. McGregor's fan boys are super annoying whenever you point out his below average grappling, wrestling, and bjj skills.
McGregor keeps citing The Ali act as to why he can box without The UFC.
McGregor's a below average boxer, he got beat up in sparring by Chris van Heerden who is an average fighter. Not to mentoin his stamina issues and that boxing gloves greatly reduce power. I don't think he will even hit Mayweather.
It's not happening while McGreggor is under UFC contract.
The way Dana White works is that Floyd & Connor get 20-25 Million and the UFC gets 100-150 Milion. The way Mayweather works is HE gets the $100 Million and everyone else splits up the rest - there might be 20$% or 25% wiggle room on that but that's not nearly enough to bridge the gap.
So unless one party does an epic all-time about face on financial terms, they're nowhere close to common ground in the near future.

You may not agree and that's fine ! But have you seen how fast Connor is ? Mayweather may be a legand! But skill over powers strength ! Connor is weak after the first round but I'm guessing it's not gonna go past first ! Good luck to him. McGregor's below average at everything, yet he's the UFC's lightweight champion and the only one to hold two belts at once? You just lost credibility with this statement.
Sparring and actually getting in the ring/cage and fighting are two totally different things. There are guys that look unstoppable in the gym and when it comes down to the fight, all that "mat time" goes out the window.
He fought smaller opponents, when he fought Diaz he didn't look all that great now did he? How many times has he defended his belts btw? When he fought against gold but not great grapplers he's lost, even before his UFC days.
If you think McGregor has any chance against Mayweather is boxing, I've got some property to sell you down south for cheap.
Maybe he should fight Canelo Alvarez, for the title of best protected fighter ever.
You lose credibility when you say stuff like, "He's below average at everything". When someone reaches the highest level in a sport like MMA, in TWO divisions, which includes basically ALL aspects of fighting, don't you think that person better be at least average in one or more of those disciplines?
Upsets never happen? How many people gave Buster Douglas a chance against Tyson? How about Holm vs. Rousey? Are you willing to pay all that juice to bet on Mayweather? All I'm saying is you'd have to be a fool to think that he doesn't have at least a puncher's chance. And that in terms of a payday, they both win.
In any case, I think this fight is gonna be boring. Floyd hasn't knocked anyone out in years, and they're both counter-punchers.
You're saying I lose credibility, when your giving McGregor a chance against one of the best boxers ever and possibly tbe hardest ever to hit, against someone who competes in a different sport? Please....
I never said McGregor was below average at everything. He's a great striker for MMA, with a deadly left hand. He's not known for his bjj, wrestling, or grappling. His boxing skills are great for MMA fights but would not translate to a professional boxing match against a world class fighter.
Freddy Roach even said it would take him at least 3 years to get him ready to fight a real boxing match.
