It's reassuring to know that the world has not forgotten about the last war in Gaza. It's even more disheartening to see a government official avoiding even the most preliminary of a judicial investigation.

Israel condemns planned Belgian interrogation of ex-FM Livni

"Israel denounced Friday the “cynical exploitation” of Belgium’s judicial system, after Belgian prosecutors confirmed they wanted to question a former Israeli minister over war crimes allegations.

Tzipi Livni, currently a Knesset member with the center-left Zionist Union opposition party, was expected to visit Brussels next week to meet Jewish leaders in the city but “cancelled three or four days before,” a spokesman for the event said.

He said the cancellation was for “personal reasons.”

Local newspaper Le Soir said prosecutors had been hoping to question Livni over allegations of war crimes in the 2008-9 Israeli war in Gaza, when she was foreign minister.

“We wanted to take advantage of her visit to try to advance the investigation,” a spokesman for Belgium’s federal prosecutor Thierry Werts said."

This is happening more and more, Israeli government officials not being able to travel for fear of war crime charges.
With the ICC still investigating, I'm sure there will be lots more to come.

The ICC has no jurisdiction, just like Russia, the PRC and the U.S.A., Israel is not a signatory.

But the Palestinians have and these alleged crimes occurred in their territory.

The ICC most definitely has jurisdiction on Palestine, who have sent allegations of apartheid and war crimes to the ICC.

Even if you accept that the Palestinian Authority is an international state, when Israel is not a signatory that creates a very significant problem..

It means accused Israeli cannot travel to any ICC signatories....which is many places.

And of course they are going after an Israeli who is a strong supporter of peace talks and a Two State peace (though based on his hatred of a Two State peace, franky is probably excited about that).

Israel has had 2 decades with the Oslo Accords to finish up peace talks.
Instead they used it as a ruse to add more settlements.
That is why they are heading to the Hague.
