Nothing to do with atomic bombs but it does study particle physics.
World leader in its field of science research. Worlds top scientists come here. Our version of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for the field of science it studies .
Shocking so many Canadians are unaware of this amazing engineering accomplishment. Should be celebrated and put on a postage stamp.

SNOLAB is an underground science laboratory specializing in neutrino and dark matter physics. They have tours open to the public? I do not mean can the public go deep underground but above ground lectures and displays?
They have underground tours for special groups, did you get to go on one?
I was there when it was under construction, maybe 85% finished. It was a tour arranged for basically friends, and friends of friends. One of the engineers on the project was a friend from the army, he got me on board.
Must have been mind blowing. One of those engineering feats that makes you feel awe at the capabilities of mankind ?
BTW, how does that orb thing work. Is it lowered into heavy water? Looks like something out of The Matrix.
I am guessing they assembled it at factory then tested it then disassembled then lowered the parts then reassembled.
Was there in early 1998 just before the heavy water fill. Lucky to be taken down by Art McDonald who later shared a Nobel Prize for his work on neutrinos.

With NYPA's Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant in foreground. And more specifically, that is the Sir Adam Beck Generating Station 2 in the west side of the River. The older Sir Adam Beck station is just out of view downstream of SAB2.
The Long Sault Control Dam. If am I correct, the photo does not belong in this Great White North thread as the Long Sault Dam is entirely is located entirely in The Land of Trump.
If so, which one? With all due respect, the facility you have shown is a control dam, not a hydro dam. The only hydro dam (i.e. generating station) on the St. Lawrence that spans the border between Canada and the US is at Cornwall. The facility was jointly developed by Ontario Hydro (now OPG) and the New York Power Authority. The OPG facility is called the R.H. Saunders Generating Station. Here is a picture of this facility, Canada on the near side, the US on the far side.

It's a water flow control gate for the beck power station. it's south of chippewa.Another challenge? Where is this unusual structure and what is its function?
