Patrick McEnroe has pegged Wawrinka as the favourite. Seeded 4th, but he has the track record, having won 3 slams already, whereas Milos has yet to win one.

Novak's done; Andy's done; Angelique, gone. Don't you love it when the draw is wide open for the taking..... Now if only Serena gets beaten that would be really cool....... Go for it Milos!

Not really .. I like rivalry championships .. A Nadal vs Roger Final could still happen

There were streaks where Roger looked vintage. There were also streaks where he was showing his age/rust. He hit a lot of loose shots. Unless he can be more consistent he will not make the final.

Could be a Milos/Stan final. I think I'd rather see Milos play Monfils in the quarters (assuming he wins later). I think he could beat Nadal as well but Nadal will fight 'til the last point whereas Monfils could lose focus at any time.

Milos at 2:00 AM.

Milos was in tough against Bautista Augut but he toughed it out and got a late break in the 3rd and won the set, then cruised in the 4th. But it was anybody's match at 4-4 in the 3rd.

Could be a real golden oldies final - Nadal versus Federer. The odds on that must have been astronomic at the start but not so far fetched now.

So probably:

Federer vs Nadal and Williams vs Williams

Time warp!
This tourney has both upsets and the upsets are from the legends of the game ...Roger has quite the battle next game ..

If Stan Wawrinka wins this tourney ... How will his legacy change .. How will he be remembered when you look back at this Era ?

I see no difference to his legacy whether he wins or loses. Either way he will be known as a guy who underachieved in his 20's and then became elite with his work in his 30's.

I would say possibly.

Stan and Dimitrov both have excellent chances.
More golden oldies with Wawrinka and Lucic-Baroni. Unbelievable and despite the sentimental values some might have bad for both men's and women's tennis.

He has more slams then Murray and a Wimbledon victory away from a grand slam ... I say he is more then just a guy who played on the tour ..

I didn't say he was "just a guy who played on tour", I said his legacy will be the same whether he wins this title or not. 3 grand slams or 4 grand slams. He is an elite player but did not achieve that status until his 30's.

Manuel Santana won 4 majors. Gustavo Kuerten won 3 majors. How much difference is there between their "legacies".

Murray and Stan both have 3 slams

I was going on the premice that if he won ( sorry it may not have been clear ) .. He wouldn't be some guy who played on the tour if he wins another slam . I am curious what his legacy will be . He always isn't mentioned as a favorite in this Era but he got slams .
