There was a long stretch of time when Roger vs Nadal always missed each other and we were deprived of this great rivalry but in 2017 it is going to happen for the second time in this week's tourney .

Roger passes first test from killer draw and beats Nadal 62 63 .. Novak losses again ... Novak losing earlier then Finals of tourneys is becoming less of a shocking sports story lately ...

Just simply amazing what Roger is doing at this point in his career. His backhand looked the best I've ever seen - he was absolutely crushing it. For most of their careers Fed often looked a little lost playing Nadal. He now seems much more confident. Barring injury Roger has got to be an early fav for Wimbledon, based on his form so far this year. Go Roger!

Seeing what's been happening to favourites lately it would be better for Federer fans to see him as the underdog. Certainly not number one or two seeds! Madness continues.

I didn't see the match unfortunately, but from the article I read, seems as though Roger was hitting out on his backhand which must have worked.

What is crazy is Novak has only accumulated 350 points so far .. Novak was defending Champion and so he will lose a lot of ATP points ...

Both Djokovich and Murray carrying elbow injuries and are out of the Miami Open. May explain some of the loss of form.

Who would have thought by March 19th that Roger would have already accumulated 3.000 plus points .... Roger Federer Wins again .. Add Federer is the oldest player to win an ATP Masters 1000 title to his resume

And he could pick up another 1000 points next week in Miami, though it's going to be hard to keep up that level week after week. The potential young guns (Kygrios, Thiem, Zverev ...) must be scratching their heads and wondering how he's doing it at his age. Reminds me a bit of when Tom Watson almost won the Open a few years back at age 60 or thereabouts. Except that Roger is actually winning and is perhaps not as old in tennis years as Watson was in golf years. I just hope his health holds up to see what he can achieve.

Fed played some incredible tennis to win this, his legend only keeps growing. I hope he stays, because I cannot see tennis being that great after him. No one remotely comes close in stature and personality to the Great Fed. Just one of the greatest sports in history and easily the greatest sports personality of his generation.

I genuinely think Roger loves playing tennis and this explains his longevrty ... The hours spent training and practicing to be a great is hard to do with the distraction of everyday life .

Federer's continued success is more due to the poor form of others, than his own brilliance. He's seized a huge unexpected slice of good fortune to help him elongate his career.

Really disappointing not to see younger players establishing themselves as successors.

You still have to respect what he's doing. He's still doing this against the best players in the world.

It is another Roger and Nadal Final .... It seems with 2 top seeds in the world slumping that only Roger and Nadal are taking advantage of it ...
It is only early April and Roger may have already 4000 ATP if he captures Miami

Poor Kyrgios. Really unsporting Miami crowd booing and hissing him whilst second serving.

Top two players currently nursing painful elbows.

Should be a great match between Roger and Rafa this afternoon. From what I've seen so far Roger is not playing as well as he did in Indian Wells (more unforced errors and backhand not as sharp). And you can bet Rafa is going to be up for this one. Still hope Roger prevails.
