Why no thread on the Juniors? I gave up TSN when I switched to pick and pay so can't see any of the games.

Probably because people are too busy going to them. That, and it's a low-key team this year without big name superstars. That said, they're kicking ass so far.

This tournament has had its day, should do it every 2 years.

It's best for Canada to lose to the USA on Sat. THen beat them in the playoff round or Gold Medal game. History shows (in the past 5 years) that no team has ever beaten the same team twice in the same tournament. Beating the USA twice will be hard.

Ticket sales are down, probably because nobody wants to pay exorbitant prices they're charging to see two teams that nobody want to see or to see our juniors filling the net on a team who has no business being in the tourny. The only real games are after the round robin, when it's win or go home.

I used to watch as many games as I could, but now I only watch the elimination games and only of it's Team Canada playing.

Ever played against a team that speaks a foreign language and you don't know what they are saying about you or to each other? Even worse when that team also understands English and they understand everything you say about them or to your own teammates.

I suspect that very few interpreted your comment thusly.

Language barrier is going to happen in world tournaments.
Even though there are Europeans playing junior hockey in North America, they don't play for Canada or the U.S. in world tournaments. Does anybody here understand Russian, Finnish, Swedish, etc.? Even Wayne Gretzsky doesn't speak Ukrainian.

Maybe that can be Canada's secret weapon going into the 3rd tied 2-2. The Canadians will only speak French. It's bound to throw off the Yanks.

Great game... very evenly matched teams. Shootout sucks though... they should just keep playing.

never in my entire life been a fan of the shootout in a championship / final game - it's a team sport.

I can see it in soccer because it could go on and on and on.

It was a good game, a well fought battle by both teams. Our Canadian lads looked like they were gripping their sticks a bit too tightly, a case of the nerves in front of the home crowd. Nonetheless they played well in the game. Kudos to the Yanks in the win. I was extremely impressed by the American coach, in his praise of Canadian hockey. The man is a credit to American hockey.
